If anything I think it would be crazy if we were the only life out there. Just seems so improbable. At least hundreds of billions of galaxies in the observable universe, possibly trillions. Each of those hosting star counts in the hundreds of billions. That's an incomprehensible amount of dice rolls lol.
Across a time scale of billions of years, even "life as we know it" would almost certainly arise somewhere else. And it's not like we really know shit about shit, not that crazy to imagine life can take form in other ways.
And again, only talking the observable universe, we'll never know how far this thing goes beyond the causally disconnected cosmic horizon, possibly infinite.
Now, other life forms visiting here, that's where I'm wayyy more skeptical. Far too separated by both time and space, the idea that humanoid aliens pop up every now and then seems a bit silly lol. I'd also imagine that any beings advanced enough to bypass the various filters of interstellar travel likely wouldn't give a shit about us. Just another primitive zoo.
