Every thread on Reddit is about this. It was more of a slap in the face.
His last attempt to connect with his family didn't work and suddenly he sees that he'll be going down with nothing. No credit, both for Heisenberg and Walt. He won't go down as a coward.
TruthTellers
He may know the Nazis are making Jesse Cook and will go save him? I find that hard to believe but that's a possibility I suppose.
No, he's dead to Walt. He has no reason to go back for him.
Actually saving Jesse is THE reason why he is going after the Nazis.
The interview with Gretchen and Elliott serves a dual purpose.
1) It inadvertently notifies Walt that Jesse is alive. How does he know this? Charlie Rose mentions that his blue meth is still being seen in the wild. Walt knows that this is only possible if Jesse is alive and cooking because Jesse is the only one that knows how to do it. Lydia begged Walt to come back to cooking when she visited the carwash specifically because Todd and Declan's cook could not recreate the blue meth.
2) The interview then acts as a catalyst to motivate Walt to save Jesse. Gretchen insults and challenges Walt to redeem himself by saying that the good man she knew is dead when asked by Rose if its possible drug dealer Walt is still out there.
