@computernoises: I think it's a stylish game that way. It caters to a certain crowd. There is enough variety with the heroes, but overall I agree it's still a shooter and the lack of depth is off putting. It's for the bang, bang, pow, pow crowd. It's wow battlegrounds with better graphics and lacking the depth that actually made wow fun for me. I always find it weird when people think I'm the one being edgy though. Gamespot in general just the way they market this stuff try to make it sound way more edgy than this game actually is.
I think gaming in general has lost a lot of it's fun because of people like that. They are catering to a certain crowd. They aren't really in touch with what gaming is.
This game just strikes me as a fairly well polished clusterf that is still just a shooter. It's lacking those moments from other games that actually make them enjoyable.
@skrilla99: I know right? I come to this site as my gaming fix but just bought this game. The last thing I want to do is watch a live stream. I'm going to go play before i see something i don't want to.
@IceJester45: Overwatch multiplayer is better than uncharted 4 I think. Both games are kind of overhyped that way imo though. Overwatch has the multiplayer aspect and Uncharted has the single player campaign though. I am still enjoying the witcher and trying to fill other nitches. Waiting for mafia III.
@IceJester45: Oh it's cool. I was just sharing my experience is all. Mafia III is the next big game i'm waiting for. Been struggling finding good games to play of late and sorting through hype and spending my money wisely and really did my research this month. I liked this game. It was pretty fun. I wouldn't buy what reviews say. Go with your own tastes. You might not but I thought it was pretty fun.
@IceJester45: Also rented Uncharted 4 this month. Finished it in 5 days. Great game but not a 10. Amazing graphics though and great end to the series. So I basically got to play Uncharted 4, Blood and Wine and this, plus the overwatch beta this month for the price of one game at full price. All just done by being a smart shopper, doing research, knowing my tastes and being honest. my only regret is this might be a free psn plus game eventually but i liked the original game. this was more a fanboy purchase for me. This game was pretty cool by my estimation.
@IceJester45: I'm still waiting on blood and wine. It will be worth it though. Yes I'm giving it an 7 or 8 before i play it. I already know what it's going to be. I'm good like that. For $20 and it's the witcher it will be a 7 or 8. I've played the witcher 3. It will satisfy that. They did release a big patch for the witcher 3 for it. It's going to be good.
@Celtic_34: just looked at the playstation store and it's $60 as well. Shadow of the beast is $20. I'm playing on ps4. Bought this and blood and wine for $40. played the overwatch beta. I enjoyed this game as much as overwatch to be honest. Less hype and nonsense and fanboys telling me to like it. Blood and wine is also pretty good. I don't think any of it is the end all be all. I'd give them all 7 or 8's. Overwatch is overpriced and overhyped. Battleborn is not worth it. Passed on tmnt as well although that was the game i was looking forward to. $60 is too much for a 3 hour game. Probably would enjoy it at 20 though. I don't mind the lack of fluff whether it's content or hype. Good content would be better.
@IceJester45: Overwatch retail origins edition is $60. Haven't even looked at the download. Played the beta and haven't looked at it since. If you want a retail copy of Overwatch it seems like the retail copy is full price and $60. Is the download $40?
I don't really agree with gamespot's reviews. I felt like it was fairly enjoyable. Pretty good game and not priced or hyped as anything but that, where a game like overwatch gets a 9 which is basically the same thing but is full price and hyped as so much more when it's not. Both stylized games. One is a side scroller. One is strictly a team based shooter. This is a quarter of the price and stacks up. Both stripped down and lacking in content. Both games are pretty standard fair. Nothing great, but fairly well made games for what they are. This game was more worth the price to me. Still not a great game or indie release or anything. Both sides of the spectrum are fairly bland right now.
