Every FF game that came after FF X is garbage anyway, so who cares? Bring back the old school turn based FF games, and some interesting characters and stories to go with them, then maybe they'll get their groove back.

This

actually ff xii was incredible, lacked a bit in the story aspect but the world and gameplay was one of the best.

Yep. When I first got it I was just as turned off as everyone else, but once you get into the game it's incredibly addictive with tons of content. It was more of a "next gen" FF than FFXIII AND it actually shared more similarity with the earlier games in the series than FFX did.

The story wasn't even that bad, it was just spread too thin over such a massive game.

FFXII was great. Many fans of the series just felt put off by it because of differences from the previous games. And I don't doubt many badmouth it without trying it out. A guy I know badmouthed it sometimes, until I lended him my copy. That being said, while it is certainly a solid and fun game it did have a number of questionable design decisions:

-The licence board, being the same for eveyone, meant that by the end of the game every character became more and more like eachother, to the point where they could become near carbon-copies.

-Executive meddling in the story, effectively shoehorning Vaan into the story because they though an androgynous main character would sell the game better in Japan (originally Balthier was supposed to be the main character).

-Having to buy gambits and going overboard with the system. (I should note that Dragon Age: Origins has a VERY similar system, almost a copy, and no one complains about that).

-etc

Regarding the story, like conan says, the story was simply a small part of a massive game. In that aspect XII was more western-style. JRPGs tend to focus a lot on the main story a few side quests while western RPGs tend to have a smaller main arch with a lot of side quests. XII was very western-style in that aspect. The game is massive, and it's easy to forget what the story is about but honestly it's quite interesting: The fight of a small country caught between the fight of two larger neighbours, and the attempt of Cid to free humanity from the will of the Gods (Occuria), which he actually succeeds at.

Also, the international edition actually fixed a lot of problems. Adding a job system for example, with many different licence boards. Unfortunately it never left Japan.

Regarding the topic at hand, I wouldn't be surprised if FFXV also makes it's way into PC, seeing has XIII just got released on Steam. I'm certainly hoping it will.

[QUOTE="Jacanuk"][QUOTE="Desmonic"]

Eh, being a resident in one of the South countries in Europe (Portugal) unless temperatures get over 45ºC I couldn't give a sh!t :P It's the usual deal in Summer around here. Anything from 35ºC to 45ºC is "normal", more than that than we start worrying lol Pretty sure people in Spain, Italy and Greece feel more or less the same.

But I can understand on bad it feels for countries where these sort of temperatures aren't all that usual.

Desmonic
hehe, your one bad mofo :D but i guess if your used to 30+ its easy, i would die if i had to live in temps all summer around 35 In UK where i live we usally never go above 25-28 in the summer on the hottest days, and normal temp is around 18-24, which is also why you dont see like in the US or countries where its alot warmer, AC built in houses Because the worst thing is actually not the high temp in the day, the problem is when it doesnt go below 20-25 at night

Like you said it's just a matter of being used to it. I doubt I'd feel too great in colder countries, like Germany, Poland, etc. Still as far as this heat wave goes, so far I don't think it has affected us much, if at all (compared with previous years I mean).

Portuguese here too. 35-40 is quite common around this time. Honestly, anything over 40 gets really uncomfortable (and fortunately it's actually somewhat rare). Still, the heat doesn't seem to prevent the brits from going to the beach at noon, and turning their skin bright pink.

All I care about was Happy Endings getting cancelled. Hopefully another network picks it up.SaintLeonidas
While I enjoyed Happy endings I'm not surprised. Watching season 3 now and it feels like every episode is the same. For me, as long as Game of Thrones doesn't cancelled I'm ok (and Once uppon a time I guess.)

Oh my god.  You really are brainwashed.  Are there no skeptics in OT.  Okay, first off, a rise in temperature brings about a rise in CO2 levels, not the other way around.  Second, CO2 is PLANT FOOD.  It's PROVEN that a simple doubling of the CO2 content in earths atmosphere would double plant productivity, fertility, and resistance to drought.  And that would mean more oxygen.  The air would be HEALTHIER to breathe.  And all the ice that melted would make sea level rise, but it would take a very long time.  Like over 2,000 years long.  It would be like drowning in a pool being filled with an eyedropper.  The extra water would mean more is available for precipitation, making the sahara green, and the Yukon a temperate forest with redwoods.  Am I going to fast for you?  Look it up.  When mammals evolved(we are mammals, in case you didn't know), the CO2 level was 3,000ppm.  Today it is barely 400ppm.  It was a paradise back then, it says so in about every single book on evolution that is peer reviewed.  It's a widely accepted fact.  Now do you see the irony?  There is so much more I could say, but I've said it a million times, so I'm done here.  I'll be back in the next "global warming/alarmist theory to scare everyones pants off" thread.GOGOGOGURT

Don't get me wrong, guys. I enjoy when my friends are happy but whenever It's someone I don't know and I see no immediate reason for them to be happy it irritates me.FuggaJ
