What next, they blame fast food because the killer ate at McDonalds? We've turned into a culture where no one is responsible for their choices: there's always someone or something else to blame.
Hopefully sales will pick up more as word spreads. Really enjoying it so far. Black Ops 2 and AC3 are tough competitors (almost put off Halo 4 myself with AC3 coming out a week before), but I think the reaction to Black Ops 2 won't be much better than to MW3.
My father told me the IRA tried using them against British troops in Northern Ireland, but they were very ineffective. Biggest drawback was that they couldn't pierce body armor. Add to that limited range (basically one side of the street to the other) and reload time, you basically have as much chance to kill as throwing a rock at them - suicide against any force armed with rifles.
EA quickly sank back into their old ways after that though.Whatever they get their grubby hands on, you can count on a gradual but guaranteed decline in quality - happened to Pandemic, Westwood, Bioware, now even gaming in general with their online passes, drm and dlc practices.
I'd definitely recommend it for the singleplayer (note my opinion on BFBC2: not great overall but did have some good missions). The complaints were due to the fact it was short (4-5 hours as is standard for fps these days) and multiplayer is nothing special. Rented it when it came out and PC version cost me $7, couldn't say no to that price :P
@netskot I'm worried about this one. I liked that the first one was based on a real war happening now that focused on the soldiers. This one sounds more and more like yet another overly dramatic action story following (imo) the less memorable characters in the first game.
The story just isn't a strongpoint for Gears of War. That's not to say it was bad: 2 and 3 improved over the first game's, but after hearing them promise it was going to be so much better with each sequel, I take this with a grain of salt.
