Interesting, I was expecting more ACIII hate. My ratings:

ACII: 9.0 (best of the series)

ACIII: 8.5 (bugs and inconsistent story, but still have a soft spot for it)

AC Brotherhood: 8.5 (improved gameplay over ACII, but I didn't like the story)

ACI: 8.5 (repetitive but unique)

AC Revelations: 7.5 (OK but only had a few standout parts, I hated Den Defense)

Interesting read. I don't know if it's true, but it seems like the direction 343 would take the series

I'm a fan of both series. I was a bit wary about Arkham Origins because it's a new developer and they're keeping the fundamentals the same (though why change it if it was amazing?). However, I decided on Arkham Origins over AC4 because I feel that the Arkham series is higher quality and I've been a bit disappointed with recent AC games.

ACIV still has potential, with an open world and open mission structure. My concerns are more about the main story missions and if this will "feel" like Assassins Creed.

Both games have lasting appeal to me even if they're not best in the series, and that's the most important thing. I still play both. My comparison:

Campaign: Halo 4 definitely wins here imo. Not only was it great to play as Chief again, they fleshed out his relationship with Cortana well imo and the Prometheans are a worthy addition to the universe - I personally don't miss the Flood. I'm just not sure it left me wanting more Halo the way the other games did. Black Ops II had some good ideas like the choices and strike force missions, but I felt they could have been implemented better (the SF missions were kinda ruined by the dumb AI imo).

Spartan Ops vs Zombies: I'd give it to Spartan Ops, even if it starts slow they had some really good Episodes later. I still miss Firefight though - offline all you have is campaign. Haven't played Zombies nearly as much; seems like more of the same with smaller maps.

Multiplayer: This one's a bit of a tossup. I'm a big fan of Black Ops II's Pick 10 system - it went a long way in holding my interest - despite mostly cramped maps. Halo 4's multiplayer is still fun and I liked some maps, but the map rotation seems pretty bad. I'm neutral towards the changes.

Overall: I would say Halo 4. I definitely felt they put more work into it.

[QUOTE="aRealCoolGuy"]I absolutely hated Bruce Wayne's inclusion in Arkham City simply because he made no attempt to hide his fighting skills.. That being said, I wouldn't mind some playable missions or cutscenes with Bruce but I would rather see stealth-type missions than full-on combat like the fight with Penguin's henchmen. Batcave / Wayne Manor: Yes! Explorable Batcave would be awesome! And it's origins so I definitely think we will/should see more references to the Wayne family and Bruce's emotions... Of course the Batmobile should be in it but I do not want to see any driving missions; this always cheapens games..

He was in prison - they would have killed him. It's not like there was a TV crew filming him, so why would he hide his fighting skills?

Yeah, while Arkham City was amazing gameplay-wise, the main story was lacking imo. I thought Arkham Asylum's plot was much better. This prequel story sounds promising as long as they can explain why Batman seems to have a more advanced array of gadgets in Origins (they may have been prototypes in need of improvement, lost, or he may simply not have brought them in Asylum because he was just escorting the Joker)

Definitely excited. The trailer and gameplay have convinced me this will be a worthy addition to the series. I played Arkham Asylum and City a while ago, and I'm looking forward to owning this one.

Same here. No way I'd buy an Xbox One

I read that Titanfall may come to PS4 because Respawn has a timed exclusivity agreement with Microsoft, though I'm not sure where I read it. I'm also curious to see the Xbox 360 version

[QUOTE="Weemanply109"]I'm sorry, but what the hell? Are we being serious? There's a HUGE Tomb Raider movie (adaption of the reboot game) in the works. What makes you think that Tomb Raider is in danger if they're willing to pursue the new direction? Tomb Raider is one of the most solid franchises in the world of gaming. Lara Croft is a household name. She's safe.

Square Enix set unrealistically high expectations for this game and basically called it a flop despite the fact it sold 3.5 million copies and got solid reviews: http://www.gamespot.com/news/square-enix-huge-slump-in-na-sales-hurt-tomb-raider-hitman-sleeping-dogs-6406625

Rocksteady were spot on with the first 2 games.  Although they took a loooong time to fix graphical issues on the PC version (I'm not aware of how it was performing on X360 or PS3).

But now that the franchise has been passed along to someone else, I'm not sure what to think of it.  It would be pretty hard to fail when the ground is so firmly set up by its predecessors, but still.  It will be a good game, but a mile away from the first two games, I'm sure.

Ubi Montreal makes good games (I'm from Montreal myself).  Assassin's Creed, which seems to get more shallow with every sequel.  And Far Cry 3, which I absolutely love, but I recently read a review saying that "the game is great, but when you really look into it, there's not much there).  It is true.  There's nothing innovative in the game, but that didn't stop them from nailing it in all the right places.

WB Montreal is a rather new team and I have no idea who's in it.  It's headed by not a game developer, but a Publisher.  He didn't developed arkham city, he published it, back when he was part of Warner Brother Interactive Entertainment.

All I'm saying is:  I preordered Arkham City on Steam because I knew it would be great, and applied the old saying "TAKE MY MONEY" to help their future as a studio.   This one, there's no way I'm preordering; I'll wait for the critics/users reviews because I know it will disappoint me.

And Mark Hamill quit!  What a shame, he was the soul of both games.

I'd be more worried about them changing too much. I share your opinions, though realistically, Arkham City didn't leave a lot for improvement. It's one of those games that'd be hard to improve on, even if Rocksteady was making a sequel.

Some of the changes they mentioned sound interesting, like revamped detective mode. But multiplayer sounds tacked on and unnecessary imo. And I'm unsure about the new voice actors.

I preordered off amazon to guarantee I'd get it release day with a $10 credit. I figure I can just cancel if I change my mind. I'd say I'm cautiously optimistic
