Tokyopop will officially close on May 31. I don't know how many manga are affected, but it's probably a large number. I haven't bought or read manga in a while since I'm broke. How does it affect you guys? Popular series like Hetalia will most likely be picked up by another publisher very quickly.

Quite a few "A Song of Ice and Fire" supporters here. I gotta check it out. There's a box set for less than $20 so I'll get that when I have the chance.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

Looks like there are some really interesting fantasy books. I'll be sure to check them all out.

Feel free to keep posting suggestions.

I haven't read any books for a long time what with all the reading I do in games and subtitled anime. I also read manga, but now I just want to read a real book.

I was thinking of trying some epic fantasy with swords and sorcery and whatnot.

Any recommendations?

So far I was looking at George Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series and the Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. A friend of mine also mentioned the Night Angel trilogy.

What do you guys think?

I own a Final Fantasy XII Potion, a Tidus necklace (It came with the potion), a Final Fantasy VIII agenda, multiple Collector's editions of many games (Fallout 3, TESIV: Oblivion, Gears Of War, Rainbow Six Vegas, Call Of Duty: Black Ops, Metroid Prime Trilogy, BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, Halo 2, Doom 3, Mortal Kombat Deception, Dragon Age Origins, GTA IV, Epic Mickey, Metal Gear Solid 4, Cursed Mountain, Clive Barker's Jericho and Prince Of Persia), some rare games (Clock Tower, Skies Of Arcadia Legends, Tales Of Symphonia, Silent Hill, Resident Evil: Code Veronica X for the Gamecube, SMT: DDS2 first print, Call Of Cthulhu:DCOTE for the PC in it's retail NA edition, AVP: Extinction, Fatal Frame 1 & 2, Ico, Phantasmagoria for the Sega Saturn, System Shock 2 complete with it's big shiny box and manuals and a copy of Banjo Tooie with it's box) and a Killer7 poster.

KillerJuan77

You have a Final Fantasy XII Potion? I wish I had a few of those. Have you opened it? If so, does it taste good? I never really thought about collecting food and beverage stuff. Well, I do have 3 empty cans of that Halo 3 Game Fuel and an container of those Resident Evil Outbreak mints that hasn't been opened.

You have a nice collection of collector's editions. And you have Skies of Arcadia. Wish I had that, but it's quite rare...well, that and every mint copy is like $100.

I envy you! You've got a Killer7 poster. I love that game.

I always liked J&D Game over screen, Daxter would always make some quirky comment, lol.

Swift_Boss_A

I've always loved those.

I like the one from Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, it's very to-the-point. :Prubber-chicken

It really rubs it in though when you get the "Game Over loop" glitch. When it asks you if you want to continue, you say yes, but then the Game Over screen comes back. You say yes again, it happens again. After about the fifth time, it let me continue.

I have nightmares now.

[QUOTE="fifasccr12"]

Well, it looks like I'll have to go and buy a PS3, then -_-

magnax1

It's quite expensive online or at the gamestore. At the gamers here it was 80$, but you can easily find it on amazon.com. If you don't want to buy it online I don't know what to tell you other then just check around all the gamestores.

The prices are pretty ridiculous. For the most part, how much you will pay will depend on what you want your copy to look like. Most people are happy just getting a copy.

However, if you're like me and are OCD about the condition of the game (no scratches, original case - no cracks, perfect manual) then yeah, you'll pay a lot more...usually. Collectors go absolutely bonkers when it comes to the original black label or, heaven forbid, one of the various misprint versions.

I honestly don't care what version I have as long as it's in perfect shape. I was lucky to get a mint GH copy for $40. Some guy retracted his bid or something.

FFVII is an interesting case cause it's expensive not because it's rare, but because of it's status as one of the "greatest games being made (I personally disagree; FFVII is good but not that good)" and because the demand is so high.

If you're not a collector and/or don't care about physical copies, then yeah, get a PS3.

I have a collection of Nintendo Power magazines. Issues 170 (has F-Zero GX on the cover) to 261 (December of 2010). My subscription has since expired. I plan on subscribing to EGM. I actually have a handful of older EGM issues that my high school teacher saved for me when the library was going to throw them away. I also have 1 issue of GameNow - the Mega Man 15th Anniversary issue. Has codes for all the Mega Man games up to X6. Was really useful years later when the Megaman Anniversary and X Collection came out.

I have most of the Zelda statues made by First4Figures. Expensive with all the statues at around $100.

I've got a bunch of posters. Most of which came with issues of Nintendo Power. I also have a few 3-feet by 4-feet Resident Evil posters I bought from some guy in the UK on eBay. I also have a couple GameStop posters. I have one for Assassin's Creed 2 and Resident Evil 5. I have a couple more from GameStop, but I don't remember what they are at the moment. I want more GameStop posters, but they won't give them away anymore cause people kept trying to sell them. I'm really getting into posters. I want to get more, but they are kinda expensive.

I also have a few import items.

I have a Yoshi plush. The tag has "Yoshi's Island DS" written in Japanese.

I have a few import video game soundtracks. The authentic ones, not the Taiwanese bootlegs you see people buying all the time. The soundtracks I currently have are:

Tales of Symphonia, Ocarina of Time, OOT Re-arranged album, Silent Hill 2 (sealed), Silent Hill 4 (sealed), Resident Evil 5 Limited Edition (sealed), Final Fantasy XIII Limited Edition, Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion, Devil May Cry Dangerous Hits, Okami (sealed), Resident Evil 4 + Visual Artbook, Guilty Gear XX.

I have a few domestic ones as well: Halo, Halo 3, Jade Empire (I'm hoping that if I ever go to Video Games Live! again I can get it signed by Jack Wall).

I also have a handful of strategy guides. Most of them are the Nintendo brand ones. Some I got for free for renewing my NP subscription. I have a few Pokemon guides, a couple Zelda guides, one for Golden Sun the Lost Age, and a few for the Final Fantasy Advance line that I got on eBay. I also have the BradyGames RE5 Collector's Edition Guide (don't know why I bought it). I actually want to buy more guides for some of my GBA games.

I have a couple Zelda action figures I got when I was young. A whole bunch were in a bargin bin in Toy R Us. One was Link with Epona. Another was young Zelda and Impa with the white horse. There was a Ganondorf one, but I didn't get a chance to get it.

And I have a little Mew toy that lights up. I think it was when Burger King was promoting the first Pokemon movie.

Do want! But alas, I am poor....

The bid is currently at $365.

Getting a mint complete copy of the game is hard enough, but a mint copy of the Japanese version that's signed? Damn!
