Currently have an 80GB with semi backwards compatibility. I'll keep holding onto it till it dies. But I'll probably get this thing when it's worth like a 100 bucks... just in case. Very much doubt PS4 will be backwards compatible with PS3 games, and if my current PS3 decides to kick the bucket somewhere like 5 years from now, it will be nice to have a back up.

I agree. I avoid digital whenever I can, whether it be console games, movies, music, or PC games. But the thing is, it's already too late for most PC games. Can't even think of many high profile game that came out in 2011 and 2012 that didn't have some kind of DRM or forced you use a digital distribution service. This makes those physical copies pretty freaking useless imo, so I don't even bother with most physical copies for PC games. Now I find myself waiting a year to get PC games on Steam sales for dirt cheap. I can only hope this won't happen to movies, music and console games.

After Final Fantasy X, Square Enix can't seem to make any games that capture that FF magic, so I doubt we'll see a remake of FF7 anytime soon. XIII is a good game, I guess, but compared to VII, VIII, IX, and X, it pretty much sucks.

Can't help to feel that a ton of indie games are also just rebranded classic games from the 90s.

A couple of years would be enough time.

I must be one of those people who just doesn't get what the appeal of indie games are. Played Limbo. Played Journey. I guess, artistically, they're pretty good, but they bore me as games. I've also tried several others from those indie bundles, and still I didn't see the appeal.

They can probably. If you had a console with an 8 core CPU and a GTX 680, it would be more than enough. Probably overkill.

Eventually we'll need a new one. I don't want to play PS3 games for the next 5 years. I mean, I don't need one tomorrow, but maybe 2 to 3 years now. It has to happen eventually.

And another point I'd like to make is that real life violence and violence in art isn't even close to being the same thing, and probably never will be. Go ahead and watch ANY film or play any game, then afterwards google "beheading of 6 Russian soldiers" and watch that. Let me know which one has the more profound effect on your mind. Some of the things I've seen on the net have been permanently burned into my brain. Yet all that ultra violence I'm exposed to in media is totally forgettable. Why? Cause it's fake. Just for fun. And they say violence in games and stuff desentizes you, the more you watch it, but I think in most cases, that's just a bunch of bullcrap. I don't care how much Call of Duty you play. If you were at the bank, doing your business and what not, and all of a sudden some psychopath comes through the door shooting and killing people, you'd probably go into fetal position. Or let's say, you were a soldier fighting in a war. Your first kill probably wouldn't feel routine. I mean, knowing that you just ended someones life. Maybe some people don't care, but I'm willing to bet that a vast majority aren't sociopaths with complete disregard for human life.
