@wwefan4ever Skyrim is a game that doesn't feature a good fight system, nor it presents that engaging story, but it is so loved from gamers because what Kevin was writing about. Skyrim is not about bombastic cut scenes and "press x" stuff, instead the game was intentionally cleared of it. It gives power to the player. Nowa days the players so much need to play their games not just be used as triggers for cutscenes and audience

@Halloll There aren't a lot of new IP's aside from indie games. Thank them to push the slow moving business of video games.

The problem of Movie-based games is not that they don't sell. They are a good bussiness because they are based of famous franchises. The problem however is that those games are usually underdeveloped, short and bland fun, and are basically made to rake money from the fans of given movie franchise. I still remember Escape from Butcher Bay which is an example how it should be done.

@sorasky22 because of the 15% slice of every transaction in the auction house. How will they control every Item and payment if they don't keep your character and gear under constant watch

@Eggs-Benedict would a 9.5 make you feel better? Try other sites. That's why I like Gamespot, they are a bit critical and don't just slap 10s and 9.5s to everything. Which is good

DRM and playing a single player game as if it was an MMO aside, I have to say that Diablo 3 is one of the most polished games I've seen in a while, and it is certainly thrilling, BUT I'm sorry to say that it seemed more like a Indie tribute to diablo than a real third part of the franchise. It is a bit of a downgrade instead of an upgrade and it is very transparent that what is done, although perfect, is just rewarmed meal.

"Innovation comes from perfect execution" I thought that Innovation came from fresh Ideas. Something that Blizzard were always afraid of apparently. Their games are perfect, yes, but they are also stuck in the past.

Remember Half Life 2's ending? Yeah that one before ep 1 and 2. It was a sudden cliffhanger with not much of an explanation. I hated it. But it didn't let go and I found myself thinkig and imagine different outcomes for it. It was an open ending whose impact was through depriving you from closure. Like Assassins' Creed Endings. Mass Effect 3's ending - the same thing. It ended the trilogy but left me starving for more and I loved it. Many questions that bug me all the time and constantly forming theories for the mysteries it left unsolved.

Many readers didn't like the ending of "Under the Dome" by Stephen King, but I haven't heard any of them petitioning him to change it. They accept it even if they don't like it is the point here. There are many examples like this, but haters must get one thing - a story (or whatever kind of art form) is the expression of its creator(s) and is not something we own. It is the vision of the author and we can't complain about it nor criticize it.
