Games I've Played

Call of Duty: Ghosts

I beat the campaign on Veteran. I actually enjoyed the campaign, which is more than most CoD fans will say. I think I'll continue to play multiplayer here and and there but for the most part I'm going to move on to other games, especially putting a dent in my huge backlog. Still, solid game overall.

Contrast (2013)

This was the first game that I've completed on my PS4. To put it bluntly, it's mediocre. There are a couple of challenging and well thought-out puzzles here and there, and the concept is good. However, the story failed to really grasp my attention and the setting was cool at first but really lost its edge as I played on. Also, glitches plagued the game. I would get caught in this weird stance, as if I were falling, countless times throughout each stage and the only way out of it is to dash. It's a nuisance more than anything, but it really took away from the game. There are a few other glitches but I won't go into them. Overall, somewhat enjoyable and a quick, easy title to get through. (Also, my first game to get all the trophies for. No platinum though.)

Escape Plan

I decided to move on from this one. I'll play it again on Vita eventually but I put it on the backburner and it's gotten stale for me. I got 3 stars in all the main levels and got a few levels of the Bakuki's Lair DLC in before calling it quits. I enjoyed it while it lasted, but it was frustrating at some points (but that's what makes puzzle games effective). Overall it's a solid experience and if you have some cash laying around, you might consider checking it out if your in the mood for an offbeat puzzler.

Grand Theft Auto V

Finally finished the story mode, and overall I really enjoyed it. The story was good, the characters were interesting, and the world is incredible. I regret the ending I chose (not going to spoil anything) but other than that, GTA V was a great game. I look forward to playing through it again at some point in the future.

Portal

Portal 2

I'm currently trying to tackle my massive backlog. In doing so, I've promised myself that I will not buy any new games until I'm caught up. Recently I decided to replay Portal on my new laptop, just to get the feel for the concept back and because Portal is one of my favorite games. I purchased Portal 2 a long time ago but never played it, and it's my next game to cross of my backlog. Plan on starting soon.

Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Interesting game. The plot was very, very intriguing. Of course, I'm not one to think much so I used a guide for all the puzzles since I just wanted to know what happened next in the story. The way it all came together was very nice and quite peculiar (in a good way). Unfortunately, a lot of the mysteries that needed to be solved weren't really "solved," just figured out by the two main characters talking, which was disappointing. I would have rather found tangible evidence rather than retrospective speculation, but it's still a solid storyline. I also really like the characters, and the ending. Overall a solid game and hopefully I can borrow the others from my girlfriend soon!

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time

Well, I was planning on getting all the trophies. Unfortunately, I was foolishly paying attention to something else while trying to load up my saved game and saved over my file with a new game. I'm very frustrated about this. There's no way I can go back so I'm just moving on, I don't have time to go through all that again. With that said, I really like the game. Like I mentioned before, the dialogue is witty, level design is superb, and characters are very likable. The game is fantastic I just wish I could have completed it 100%.
