this year and next year all the major franchises seem to be concluding or coming out. mass effect 3, gears 3, killzone 3, zelda, skyrim, deus ex, bioshock infinity, diablo 3 etc. (guitar hero just ended) It seems a bit late to start announcing brand new franchises, I think they will move on. 2 years out of move and kinect should help establish the tech a bit ready for next gen, when they can really get to work on them making a console with kinect and move being fully supported, unlike now with the tech not being integrated well with the dashboard etc. i think the next nintendo console will definitely come out, and i think microsoft would like another head start.
does this play PSP games? i'm a bit confused as to what this phone actually does. in the gamespot article they talk about ps1 games and having a playstation store launch at the end of the year.
No, that and wii sports really got a lot of people on board. I think if the PS3 launched at a cheaper price, like $250 it would be in first place right now. It had a lot of hype up until $599 and then the poor first year for games just killed any hype.
if you are to go for one now i would go for the one chubby guy suggested, that way you have a great tv for normal hd and sd vieing and the 3d is good when you want to use it. As for glasses-less 3D i think like large oled tvs we are still a few years off them becoming consumer products. The viewing angle is likely to be problematic and i'd imagine there would be colour issues and such. although i may be wrong, i just can't see them dumping the glasses technology so soon, especially as samsung have just got a full 1080p passive technology patented, and are going to implement it next year.
i think it will have a blu ray drive, inbuilt wifi and i'm not sure about the power. I doubt devs will appreciate increased development cost when development already cost so much this gen.
I thought i only needed speakers and a subwoofer :(

it depends what you are planning on going for, i'm not sure why a sound card was recommended. If you are going for bookshelf speakers and an sub then you will need an amplifier to power them, if you are going for some 2.1 computer type spekers then they have inbuilt amps.
