[QUOTE="Animal-Mother"] Yes, Just like PSP go, Just like this and Just like PS3. At this point your just appealing to people who either really want it or have the money to spend. I mean the DS is pretty expensive but IF 300 bucks is the price point, a lot of people and parents like the way 249.99 sounds rather than the way 299 USD sounds

while i do think the 3DS is going to kill the NGP in sales, i don't think this price is unreasonable at all. Considering the tech i expected it to be in the $350 to $400 range (which is still possible), if they manage to get the NGP out at this price it has every chance of doing well.

If true, the handheld war would get very interessting

[QUOTE="APiranhaAteMyVa"]i doubt sony would have released any details on pricing yet, the 3DS i believe was listed at 299 on gamestop at one time too. Also the launch date will never happen, i think at e3 they'll reveal all the details.ArchoNils2

Why not? Nintendo showed the 3DS on E3 last year for the first time and it releases in March. Sony already showed it before E3, the date is possible

not so much the speed of the release, i wouldn't be surprised if they do release it at the end of the year, i mean the new years day launch date is highly unlikely. There will be a few shops closed and people will be almost dead after new years eve.

*Reggie quote*dzimm

He is not wrong about some of the $1-2 flash games being overpriced, a bunch of these games have been accesible for free for years in some form or another, including the often praised angry birds (castle crush).

I do think Nintendo shouldn't disregard indie devs though, you just need to look at devs like frictional games who created amnesia, or whoever made braid, meatboy and limbo. These shouldn't be overlooked and Nintendo should be looking to get these cheaper but quality indie titles on the estore. I doubt it will create much competition with physically full priced released games.

I think Nintendo will be fine with the 3DS as the 3D and Nintendos excellent games along with 3rd party support offers more than any other mobile device on the market.

meh, there will always be a market for big budget games. there is room for both, and i don't think something like angry birds, which is a copy of plenty of flash games i played years ago such as castle crush is going to take over people wanting nintendo games. Otherwise free flash games would have killed these consoles and handhelds years ago. nintendo should be on the look out to get some indie devs producing some app like games for the estore, they have done ok on the wii, but i think there is room for a lot more when you look at how many free flash games etc. are out there.

also check the xbox settings to see if you have colour options set to expanded or whatever. I'm not too familiar with the 360 settings, but on PS3 the full colour mode often creates the black crush effect, so i presume the 360 will have something similar. Also check what your black adjust options are set to, sometimes TV's often have these settings to adjust black levels a such.

The average gamer is 35 years old, with 40% being female. As long as you enjoy your hobby or what you do, who cares what others think? those who don't do something they enjoy because people may judge them are the ones who are childish, just like those who judge. C.S Lewis Quote on this matter: Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.

I was going to get one but the ngp changed my mind. That with the lackluster games at launch and the poor battery life in 3d mode.Rude_Bwoii
the NGP will be in a similar position regarding both battery and more likely than not launch titles.

i think nintendo have learnt from the release of the balance board, DSI and wii motion plus. If you start adding new features at a later date they won't be supported well, as it alienates a large portion of owners. I think they have packed the 3ds to what they want it to be, they will probably release a 3ds xl at a later date, but why would most want a big portable? especially when the 3DS screen is already of a decent size. As for battery concerns, unless battery technology improves greatly over the next 2 years, or they make a bigger unit (3DS xl) then things aren't going to improve. All devices today that are high powered lack long battery lifes. The only reason for waiting would be if the launch titles don't interest you at all, or hoping for a price drop. Judging by the wii and ds you will be waiting a long while for a price drop.
