This gen is boring. I could call out probably 20+ games that are almost just like COD. I've played maybe 10-15 games this gen that I found unique, original, etc. out of over what....200?

This is why I bought a PS1

No need to post in this thread anymore, I brought it back to the store and they gave me a different one free of charge

I was excited a while back until I saw gameplay. I like Bleach but this game looks horrible.

The 2 demo discs that I bought both work on the PS3, unfortunately the 2 actual full games that I bought won't come in for about a week :( If it is the laser, wouldn't the PS1 not read a CD either though? Or does the PS1 read them differently?

So I just bought a PS1 and 2 demo discs, got home, set everything set up, but my PS1 will not play the discs. I checked the discs on my PS3 and they're working, so this is obviously a problem with my PS1.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? The PS1 can read and playback a CD fine, just not the demo. When I insert the demo it goes straight to the PS1 menu screen. This is the slim PS1 by the way

Can anyone give me some PS1 game suggestions? Though I have a PS3, I'm going to get a PS1 soon for roughly $20 due to nostalgia. I never even actually owned a PS1 though (played it a bunch with neighbors) :P Anyways, here's what I already have/bought online: Final Fantasy VIII Final Fantasy IX What I'm already looking at buying: Vagrant Story Spyro(s) Twisted Metal Metal Gear Mr. Driller Final Fantasy VII if I can ever find it for less than $50 I'm looking for games of ANY genre

You couldn't just post in the topic on the first page with a nearly identical title? It's a great game, better than the original. I think the word your looking for is nostalgia, not deja vu. Deja vu is the word you use for shooters

It's worth the $60, not to mention it has the original Alice in it. The combat doesn't really change much, it just naturally gets a bit harder like any other game would. I don't beleive combat is boring because each enemy has a specific way to kill them, for instance there are only 2 enemies so far that you can just hacknslash, some require you to stun then kill them, wait for an opening, etc.

I'm playing the game right now and it's great. The only complaint I have about it is that some invisible walls are quite annoying. So far this game is at the LEAST a 7/10 if you must require a number. I think going by reviews is stupid, everyone has there own opinion, for instance, I bought the game NIER for ps3 a bit back and loved it. It scored a 5 here.

EDIT: The textures aren't exactly amazing, but so far all the characters are animated well. As for the difficulty, recent games have caused gamers to go soft. I always play games on the hardest difficulty setting possible, yet why is it that Hard from 2011=Easy from the 90's? A more difficult game is a blessing these days, not something to critisize.

Been playing it for the past 2 hours as well and loving it. Definitely a breath of fresh air. I think it's completely pointless to go by someones review. Reviews don't mean squat, it's an opinion of someone other than you, but either way, this is no 5/10 score
