I've been reading the forum for awhile but just got around to signing up. Anyway, I'm sad to report after just over a year my original Xbox 360 Premium has died. I was playing Call of Duty 3 and it started freezing up the other night. I restarted the unit a couple times and it continued working for awhile. Eventually it froze up and I got the red rings of death. I have taken excellent care of the unit and haven't even played it that much. I've owned probably half a dozen other consoles (including the original Xbox) and never had a problem. I'm really disappointed I'm stuck with a $400 out of warranty paper weight now. I will be contacting Microsoft. I'm not paying to fix this thing.... if they don't replace it I simply will never buy another Xbox product ever again. It looks like they have a real problem on their hands and they know it.

First of all, I understand your pain. Second, you don't have to pay for the RRoD since you haven't had it for 3 years( no one has). And third if you don't have to pay if they tell you that you have to just file a complaint with the BBB or AG9 if you live in the US. If you're from the UK you have the Sale of Goods act, so just take it up with the retailer.

It's funny. I was just going to buy the 60gb when I went to the store, but then I figured I was going to buy Motorstorm anyways, so that's what, another $64. So that's $538.73 w/ tax for the PS3 and $64.64 for the game, that's $603.37 right there. So the 80gb is $646.48 w/ tax (this is Nevada tax 7.75%). So I basically got 20gb extra for $43.11. You can always trade Motorstorm in if you don't want it. I'm glad I got the 80gb personally.EnderSR388
I'm glad you got a PS3 period. Saves you from the RRoD.

Agreed!!

I agree as well, GT5 Prologue not only looks 'better', it looks more detailed, more realistic, and the cars aren't all blurry like they are on PGR4 screenshots. GT5 Prologue is also free, and will probably play better.

no, never.

And GT5 will also be for sale. Funny that you can download it for free and buy it. Only if there were more that one version. Hurry up 2008!

This has been asked 2,147,483,647 times already. And the 60 GB will always win. Only that I don't have a credit card to get a bigger HDD from online stores. But if you don't have ANY PS2/1 games WHATSOEVER and don't have any interests in them, only then should you go with the 80GB. But the 80 does have some backwards compatability, but it is way less than the 60.

For any company you'll have to show proof of purchase within the warranty period to show that you got it within the period. If you know how, make a fake reciept using the name of the store you got it. It wouldn't matter as they won't check that. I had the same problem with my PS2 slim. After over a year of flawless performance it did the same thing. Only I took the piece of plastic covering the console info( serial #, etc.) and the S/N smeared off and I couldn't get it replaced. I had to surveve almost 2 whole months sitting on my ass and doing nothing. Now I have the old model and so far so good.

ok... i just called the xbox repair line to get my ups tracking code since the website is getting repairs (which i think is kinda ironic). and as soon as i called the automated voice said my repair was complet and i should recieve my xbox in 3-5 business days..

i havent even sent my old one in yet, #1

and #2, when i checked my ups tracking.. it said the weight was 8 lbs.. which is slightly over the weight of the xbox.

anyone have any idea wats goin on there?

They're trying to BS you. It's a trick by MS to stop the calls and to infuriate buyers IMO. That's why you should make DAMN sure you speak to a person.

I'd wait until closing to see what car he drives then come back at abetter time andF-UP his car...

I'd key XBOX 360 SUX on the side on his automobile...

Maybe he'll get the message...

I wouldn't do that if I were you. Saturday(you may or may not have heard about it, depends in where you live) me and some other guys( LSU fans) ****ed up some girl's car! We thought she was a VT fan. She wasn't. I'll get you a link if you want it.

I thought I could find one in typing:
