Many games force players to make tough or unfavorable decisions. Many books, TV shows, and movies also explore the darker side of humanity. If a game evokes an emotion by ways that do not invole a fat itialian plummer on a bad acid trip, for some reason it makes many angry, or at least they start to debate if such intertainment should even be played. I say, it's just a game, and should be treated like any other form of intertainment - enjoy it for what it is. But I think the main issue is that parents have let the game become the baby sitters and its time to move the gaming system back into the living room where there interactions with others on line and what they are playing can be monitored, if for any other reason - to help them understand just what it is they are doing. I helped many of frog cross a busy street in my youth, but not once have I steared my car to run one over...
bad = public company. having to meet analyst perdictions and to beat last quarters numbers. rushed sequels. Good = access, i can play a game on my phone on my pc, on my tv, etc. Now if they would all work together that would be amazing - like the dreamcast controller, portable games that worked together...
