"Why the big hurry?"

User Rating: 10 | Perfect Dark N64

Perfect Dark is one of the best FPS games out there. They took Goldeneye and made it better.

Story: You are agent Joanna Dark. A secret sexy operative spy who must uncover a conspiracy involving ancient aliens, mega corporations, and cloned Presidents.

Gameplay- Perfect Dark is amazing. You go around with guns as good as Goldeneye's and shoot enemies from DataDyne. Much like Goldeneye you can choose stealth and other things. Explore halls and buildings.

The AI in PD is much smarter than anything before. The AI will not tolerate friendly fire. The AI will shoot you.

You have many missions in the 7 levels of the video game. Everything has variety. There is no repetition. There are different levels that get harder as you progress.

The story is far more intense than it was in GoldenEye.

Even better there are no missions that will make you pull out your hair!

You can drive automobiles to like the Skedar car.

The multiplayer is even better. You can choose many bots to fight with or fight against and kill in an arena with different modes. You don't need internet to have a good time with this one.

Unlike Goldeneye's shitty weapon swap. Perfect Dark gives you a weapons wheel where you can select your weapon quickly during combat. It's amazing!

The levels are just as good. Many locations to explore.

The cheat codes are just to die for. You get colored blood and big head mode.

Graphics:

The Graphics of Perfect Dark kick the ass of the Nintendo 64 even with the expansion pack. It simply can't handle PD with it's lag.

Being said that, the graphics are insane. They may not be as clean as Goldeneye but oh boy are they amazing.

The lighting effects are insane. The muzzle flash will make light bounce and pop. With colored lighting effects.Faked lighting effects at times It looks so real coupled with the insane animations of each character. All of this feels moody like the Matrix.

There are some nice particle effects to boot to. Sparks fly as guns hit the wall. There is blood in it which gives PD that well deserved M rating.

The Gun models are shiney and have nice animations.

The characters are mostly worse than Goldeneye. They are blocky. But hey at least Elvis looks pretty nice.

Post processing effects even like Depth of feild during cutscenes and motion blure.

It's a slick aesthetic that has the same mood as MGS.

Sound:

Finally, alas we get voice clips. Muffled voice clips but good VA none the less.

The music isn't half bad either. Just listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OopYRt_-4Ls

Overall

Perfect Dark is an incredible spiritual successor to Goldeneye 007

I hope it gets a movie someday.
