Best Free-To-Play Game Out There

User Rating: 9 | Path of Exile PC

I hate Pay-To-Win or FTP games, as most of the business models out there causes a flaw which forces me to pay to reach further into the game, plus the game just is as tasteless as the business model. This game does not force me, but rather enjoys the company it places. The graphics for a free model is superb. Mind you I play both DIII, TLII, and this game and all has its pros and cons. This game is hard for me to say what is wrong with it.

The finances in this game uses a barter trade. rather then coin, it uses various items which all have the ability to perform various enhancements to your items. Or you can use it to purchase items from local vendors.

Even if you decide to create a character designated to engulf the flames of your enemies in sorcery, you can actually cross-train them to do melee as well. Both the skill and attribute tree compliment each other very well to constantly ponder on what to do next to make your character that much greater. The socket strategics design implements either to choose a armor that compliments your characters main feature, or to instead choose your skills / bonus features instead. Often at times I instead choose the skill rather then the armor, but again it all together is up to you on how you decide.

The flaw with this design, is that it may be forever until you see another skill pop up that may favor your characters design.

Loot system NOW reaches similar tastes as both DIII and TLII (now that DIII is finally fixed, god I hate that game in the beginning). You get consistent rares and magical and rare sights legendary. Very impressive and constantly keeps me searching the whole map searching for the loot rather then the objective itself.

Maps are varied, seldom times do I feel this is the same atmosphere. Side objectives are riddled everywhere, but encourages you to keep going with those. Con is that you could be gone and organizing your stuff for 10 minutes. Due to their randomized engine, you could teleport back and find yourself finding the exit all over again.

PVP is also in effect, although I have not seen it yet as my character is in HardCore Mode, but it will soon come.

If you are broke, and want to experience something and love the Diablo Series, and over time want to give something back to the creators in thankyou; this is it. It is hard to see a game where you say, "This is such a great game, what do they do to get income from the people rather then aesthetics?" A Rare gem.
