Surprisingly good, but hearing the patapons saying Pata-Pata-Pon can be annoying if you play this game for too long.
There isn't much of a story to this game you are just mostly helping a tribe get back on there own feet and fight your enimies with drum rythems. For LococRoco fans will reconise the same looks and graphics if you think about it.
Gameplay= Unlike other puzzle games your just pressing certain buttons in order to conrtol your Patapon army there's only a few commands you'll remeber alot while playing and getting a high combo so that you can do strong and critical attacks. There are alot missions in the game where you can make your troops stronger or earn money and items which you could use in other levels. But there is some puzzles which will keep you busy for hours and some puzzles will require you to use a certain miricle or changing weapons. You can only have three type of groups in your team like archers, warriors, or spearmen but some levels you'll need to swap patapons in order to get pass the level.
Graphics and Sound= I loved the graphics for this game, you don't see many good games with outstanding art in 2D but it looks amazing. During the gameplay your beating like a drum in order to do a command keep the rythem going also hearing the patapons sing as well saying Pata- Pata- Patapon you can feel the rtyhem to the game but it can get abit annoying with the same music rythem if you keep doing a command like moving, attacking, or defence.
Overall= It can be a fun game with many boss battle which are very challengeing to do and it can take you more then 20 hours to beat the game or more if your doing other tasks. There a few mini games as well but you'll need a certain item in order to play a mini game, if you have played through other PSP games like Crisis Core or God of War, Patapon is a challnge for some people who are into puzzle games.
