Extremely frustrating!!!

I first saw Abe's Oddysee at a friend's house and I was cracking up to see how you can torment both bad guys and people you are suppose to save. The game's graphics were just amazing for its time, which made it a great game to play. Despite the somewhat slow controls, the game is well done. The only thing wrong with it is that the whole game is extremely hard. This game reminded me of Ghouls and Goblins and it is one of those games where you have to brag if you actually beat it. For me, I quit after I escaped the factory, because I was just done with the game, but not because it wasn't fun (because it's extremely fun), but because it is so damn annoying and frustrating when you have no idea what is on the other side of a door and when you do, you're gunned down by a Slig. Chanting only gives you control of your enemy, which is a good feature, but there isn't much to do but shoot all the bad guys after having a 'conversation' with them and then, blow up your mind-controlled bad guy. That's the only thing this game really offers that is different from other side scrollers. The puzzles are really well done, but just too hard to where you just don't care about the game and just throw down your controller angrily and start your day with a bad attitude.
