User Rating: 8.2 | Musashi: Samurai Legend PS2
Well shortly before my ps2 crashed I picked up this game. Where to start?
I'll start with graphics for the most part impressive. Its called "manga shading" cell shaded 3d enviroments and characters outlined by heavy dark lines. ARGH the voice acting! Hearing musashi will make you question the fact that he is supposidly a great hero of anouther world... The game play. It is addictive to fight(One of the few games I dont find it a hassle to kill every villian). You can steal attacks from youre foes! I beleive there are some where between 30-40 maybe 50? attacks you can gain? The bosses are either simple or frusstrating. basically you are collecting elemental blades. Each blade (including the oar you start with) has a speacial ability that can help you progress and fight(thats rare) meaning you will use each sword more than once(gasp!!). Each swords power and each attack you gain will take mp. There is an rpg system thrown in(duh Squre after all) As you level up you can raise certain states hp, mp. strengh, skill, etc. Its wise to develope each area equally but its up to you. A magor part of this game is rescueing the villagers. You will need to save them through out the levels by breaking the capsules there stuck in. You will need to save some to advance the story, and some to shop, and some to....uh... save! The games magor flaw is that it is far to short! Well you can restart youre completed file to go to the harder mode and finsh youre card collection(oh yeah you can collect cards of the characters and monsters). There are mini games hidden in as well such as a motor cycle battle(FF7 anyone?). If you can look past the games flaws and musashi's dissturbing appearace, you may want to pick this up or at least rent it...
