The only reason I put four or more hours for the learning curve is because you'll learn new techniques with the game all the time. Certain ways that things work, and certain monsters that kick a**. I never beat this game, but I came extremely close to winning the last tournaments before. If you were a fan of the show, you'll love this game. Despite how this game doesn't have "Phoenix" or "Moo", you'll find a character to love. Tiger, which was my favorite, comes in many different variations. Then they added new monster types. I'm not going to spoil them, but if you're a fan, you'll love the added types. It's just a very unique game. Even people who aren't fans will like this alternative to Pokemon. This game actually feels like you're caring for the creatures instead of putting them in your backpack.
