Metal Slug blasts its way onto the GBA brings arcade style side scroll-shooting to portables everywhere.
The game looks, sounds, and plays like it has been ripped from an arcade, which is good, though the graphics aren't much to look at by themselves. But, this is an arcade classic, and graphics aren't importants as you mow down countless baddies on foot and in your tank or plane, listening to the old arcade tunes.
The levels are challenging and the bosses are hard as heck, but with a good trigger thumb and a quick wit, you will persevere, but not without a massive amount of work. Not for people with short attention spans.
At a low price that varies by retailer, you owe it to yourself to play this arcade classic. If you don't play Metal Slug, you have missed a truly excellent game. GBA, PS2, or anything: as long as the gameplay is untouched, Metal Slug is still a dominant 2D franchise.
