Must I always be the only one with a sane review!
Hot Shots is a solid game. There is no question that it is eminently playable and enjoyable.
Perfect, it isn't.
First of all, the ball physics are laughable. Balls roll through sand traps, across fifty yards of fairway and off trees seventy yards in a given direction.
In other words, if you've ever actually played golf, prepare to be frustrated by this. It can be dealt with an accounted for, one just has to learn to adjust one's thinking to account for ridiculous rolls.
Second of all, putting is difficult. It isn't impossible, but it's harder than it needs to be.
Thirdly, cute Japanese characters. Being over the age of six, I find them annoying. I realize that it's a style very attributable to Japanese culture (yes I have actually been to Japan) but as a Westerner, it's juvenile and annoying.
Other than those flaws, it's a playable solid game.
