Halo joins Goldeneye and Half Life as one of the genre changing games. The FPS genre, every few years, has a game that completely changes expectations for these types of games. First there was Doom, then there was Goldeneye, then there was Half Life, now there is Halo. Why? Halo is just incredibly fun. This game takes the "fun factor" to a new level. The single player campaign has a fairly immersive story and the controls are pretty much perfect. The concept of the left trigger for grenades and the concept of a melee attack add greatly to the gameplay. Also, the controls are easy to learn, easy to use, and, frankly, work fantastically. The health system is excellent as well, the addition of a rechargable shield with limited healths sounds weird, but is the best health system I have ever used. I cant say enought good things about Halo. There is nothing better than chucking a frag, ducking around a corner and watching the bodies fly. And then, theres the multiplayer. If you have a few televisions, a few xboxs, and the necessary link-up cords you should be prepare for obsession. There is nothing better than having a 4 on 4 CTF game with your buddies. If you have an xbox and you dont have halo, then youre crazy.
