343 Industries takes us back to what made Halo: Combat Evolved great, but borrows from the recent successes of Halo: Reach.

Combat remains true to what foundations of Halo, but new tricks picked up from other popular shooters, such as Call of Duty, permeate through and add more life to a series that feels primed to reign once again.

Multiplayer remains the series high point and the campaign is one of the best in the series with few dull moments to dredge through. The emotional story between Master Chief and Cortana is a nice change of pace, although the main story for a new trilogy of games is convoluted and not as exciting.

This is a game any FPS buff should own and a Halo enthusiast will relish.
