The gods are definitely going to be proud of Kratos second portable adventure

User Rating: 9 | God of War: Ghost of Sparta PSP
There are many angry video game characters,Kratos is one of them. But this man is filled with so much anger that he makes others look like as if they stepped out of happy feet.Even though we bid him goodbye in God of War 3,kratos is back for one last time in his final blood-soaked adventure you cannot afford to lose.Developed by Ready at Dawn studios, the guys behind Daxter and Chains of Olympus,GoS takes place after the events of God of War 1.The plot focuses around Kratos search for his brother - Deimos, who was kidnapped by the gods when he was a child. The plot also sheds some light on Kratos horrific past. Now,Kratos scours the whole world in search of his brother and to destroy the one,s responsible. If you haven't played the earlier installments, then the story will get confusing for you, otherwise the story is quite intriguing, even better than Chains of Olympus.Even after being a portable game, this game has got some lofty ambitions and it delivers them with aplomb. It has got many "Oh my god did you see that moments".the best thing is that even after all these the frame rates hardly dip. This is all possible thanks to the great camera that zooms in and zooms out at the right time allowing to full take in the on-screen action. But there were many times when the camera completely blocked my view, which can be dangerous during combat.Combat in this game is as good as Kratos previous adventures,if not better. He,s armed with the trustworthy Athena blades for which you can unlock new moves by using red orbs, which can be obtained either by killing enemies or rummaging through red crates spread out throughout the game. The other weapons you get to unlock are his shield and spear that he used as a spartan warrior.I know that this too low for a god of war game but hey,in the end,you are most likely to use the blades.

If you thought only Harry Potter has got some mad magic skills, think again as Kratos get,s to bring down some serious pain on his enemies using various magic powers, all that you will get after some boss fight.Speaking of boss fights in this game,i was dissapointed. This game has the weakest boss fights in the franchise. In terms of violence, children are requested to stay away from this game as scenes of Kratos stabbing a Cyclopes in the eye and then ripping the whole eyeball out is gonna give them nightmares. It also has got it,s share of platforming too. Most off the puzzles are the same push-crate,pull lever fare. But they are easy to solve if you are a god of war vet.

The campaign lasts around for 8 hours depending on the difficulty you play it on.After finishing the game you can indulge in some challenges laid out by various gods.Mind you, they are alittle bit tough. You can even create a fully customisable arena of your own, where you can even choose the enemies you want to face.Orbs unlocked through these modes can be used to unlock bonus costumes.concept art, videos and in-game cut scenes.this was the most stupid thing that i found out about the game.I mean why don,t they get unlocked when i beat the game and why the hell there are no descriptions given.Besides these, another thing that annoyed me were few sections where you feel like as if the game is dragging itself.I felt as if the dev are throwing enemies at me just to increase the game's length.

Minor issues aside,if you have been waiting for a psp game that will completely blow you away, then this the game for you. It's got the best graphics you'll ever see on a psp game,it's brutal and entertaining.

Pros:-
1.Most brilliant productions values ever in a psp game
2.Entertaining gameplay
3.Another excellent addition to the God of War series

Cons:-
1.Certain camera issues
2.A little bit boring in few parts
