One of the great stories of gaming is dragged down by a repetitiveness that can annoy.
Yakuza, don't get me wrong, is a great game. The story is probably one of the few in gaming that is so great, so fresh, and so different, that it is what keeps you playing. The story is beautifully executed with chara... Read Full Review

Great story, but unfortunately its other short comings prevent it from being a great game overall.
Yakuza is an action/adventure game with some RPG elements developed by Amusement Entertainment and published by Sega. Showing you the world of the Japanese "Mafia," Yakuza follows Kazuma Kiryu in his quest to find out th... Read Full Review

Bad voice acting and other gameplay issues aside, Yakuza is a real gem in the Playstation 2's library
Yakuza is one of those games that I played, but I never got around finishing, though it's not my fault. I played the game on my Playstation 3 (even though it's a PS2 game), and... It turns out that the PS3 is stupid at p... Read Full Review

Yakuza is a great example on how to use your fists, but it's not without some shortcomings.
Positive - Fantastic hand-to-hand combat - The graphics make the city vivid - Cool specials and weapon specials - A lot of side quest to do Negative - Frequent loadings in the city are annoying - Multi enemies m... Read Full Review

GROWS ON YOU QUICKER THAN YOU CAN SAY GREAT, A JOY TO HAVE PLAYED THIS GAME.
You can say that almost every Japanese game is somewhat quriky. The Street Fighter provides fighters with constant nostalgia, while Mario reminds players that old plumbers are still in fashion, over 20 years since their ... Read Full Review

An oldie, but undeniably good.
There are two aspects to Yakuza. First is the brawler aspect. As a brawler it's annoyingly simple. Just mash the buttons, learn a few basic combos which can be executed by mashing buttons in order, and occasionally pi... Read Full Review

This game requires patience and some tolerance but is still fun.
Yakuza is an unpopular game that deserves some credit since it's a pretty good game. It's a fighting game that also incorporated a free roam aspect like the GTA games. It can take arounf 12-18 hours to beat. The story is... Read Full Review

I was really surprised from the first time I played this SUPER-AWESOME-MEGA-FUN GAME!!!!
There was a very fun game on the Sega Dreamcast called Shenmue. It was like heaven on earth! You know about Second Life, right? It's like an online virtual life simulator. Now, imagine Second Life having a story-line, an... Read Full Review

Yakuza is recommendable to anyone for a story, but is lacking in gameplay.
Make no mistake, I am not a fan of fighting games. I mostly find them boring, besides the occasional Soul Caliber. But Yakuza simply transcends genre. Set in a crime-ridden city in Japan, you play as Kazuma, a Yakuza ... Read Full Review

The story is the main reason to play this game. It's one of the best stories in a game I've ever seen. Great!!
The talk about an open world where you could go into every store turned out to be not true. The fighting is a lot of button mashing and you can go through the game using pretty much the same button combination but that d... Read Full Review
