Gameplay has great balance between risk and reward. Bugs prevent it from a higher score.
EU is separated into two portions of gameplay: strategic and tactical. In the strategic layer, you build your base, search for missions to fight aliens, perform research, etc. The tactical portion is the meat of the game... Read Full Review

A resounding success and a highly enjoyable game thanks to the breadth of available options and a sound combat system.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown is something between a remake and a reboot of the beloved XCOM: UFO Defense turn-based strategy game. The developer tasked to do the job is Firaxis and it's a perfect fit for the studio founded and ma... Read Full Review

One more term that really should be included in the classification section to encompass games like these...FRUSTRATING!!
I walked into a GameStop/EB Games one afternoon, missing out on all the games I haven't been playing throughout the spring/summer. I picked up two overrated games one being an action adventure and the other being a shoot... Read Full Review

XCom does many things pretty good, but nothing great.
If you like turn-based strategy games, you will like XCOM. Will you love it, probably not; I didn't, but I did finish the game and towards the middle I was kind of hooked on it. You are able to build your squad based on ... Read Full Review

Addictive gameplay and mysterious draw outshine what is actually a pretty average game
If you just look at this game piece by piece, it's actually pretty terrible. It's got the graphics that could be found on a PS2. It's got generic character designs, a generic plot, a terrible ending, and generic gamepl... Read Full Review

A decent game that just runs out of steam a little..
Xcom is a strange game tbh. Its well thought out and the idea of the game is sound but it just failed to get me hooked if I have to tell the truth. Its a sort of shooter, rts. Along the lines of the Brother In Arms ... Read Full Review

While it's not exactly the XCOM we all love and remember, its still a solid game on its own merits.
H'okay, so lemme start with the fact that I was/am an old school XCOM fanboy. It is, without a doubt, my favorite game of all time. But, I acknowledge that, and with that, its silly to try to do a direct comparison of th... Read Full Review

An addictive, absolutely enjoyable turn-based/base-management strategy game. Also you get to kill bushels of aliens.
I'm a huge fan of difficulty in games - Dark Souls, oh yeah. Zealot-level difficulty in Dead Space: yes please. When I play most games, they're so easy, I feel like a moron for playing for them. Honestly, a nutless monke... Read Full Review
