Beautiful, funny, emotional and immersive - easily the best game in the series.

Final Fantasy IX can be called the magnum opus of SquareSoft, yet it is the most under appreciated. The game takes a break from the futuristic/steam-punk setting of VII and VIII and returns to the medieval-inspired world... Read Full Review

An underrated gem that is well worth playing.

Final fantasy IX is by far the most superb final fantasy i have played, it goes back to the classic gameplay the previous 'Old school' games and instead of throwing it away, embraces the style, the art, and the gameplay,... Read Full Review

Best addition to the series on the PS1.

Final Fantasy IX was the first game in the series that I had ever played and I absolutely fell in love with it. At the time, all other prior to this weren't as exciting. The story is cliche but for some reason feels so... Read Full Review

    An almost perfect game.

Really, the 90's were the best age of gaming. Many many roleplaying games came out at this time. FF7 and 8, Vagrant Story, Chrono Cross, LoD... I could go on. Of all of these though, Final Fantasy 9 was always my favorit... Read Full Review

A fantastic game brought together beautifully for the old-school RPG lover.

Final Fantasy IX is a tribute to all the games before it before the series moved to the PS2. But it is also much more than that as well. Whilst there are nods to recurring characters and job classes it expands on the n... Read Full Review

Epitomizes the brilliance of Final Fantasy in an epic tribute to the past.

While the world began to turn their attention to the next generation of gaming consoles, Squaresoft didn't seem to hear that buzz defening PS1 releases. Times were changes, games were changing; and in that context Square... Read Full Review

A game that truly deserves the title of Final Fantasy.

Few games have really left an impact on me and set my standards for video games. While I have played several good games, several of them had flaws that I could not overlook very easily. Therefore, I couldn't see them as ... Read Full Review
