An underrated gem that is well worth playing.

User Rating: 9 | Final Fantasy IX PS
Final fantasy IX is by far the most superb final fantasy i have played, it goes back to the classic gameplay the previous 'Old school' games and instead of throwing it away, embraces the style, the art, and the gameplay, while bringing it to the PS1 generation. Most people criticise FFIX because only the main character is the only one to have limit breaks, or the graphics are to cartoony, or because it only has two healer characters, and excetra, but hear me out. FFIX focuses on the main character, Zidane, who is in a gang of thieves called Tantalus, who are trying to kidnap Princess Garnet, the heir to the throne of Alexandria, eventually the royal knight Steiner, Vivi the black mage, and Zidane and Garnet, are swept into a huge dilemma. Now even though the story is good, the gameplay is a hidden gem often ignored, you could somewhat relate it to FF7 and/or FF6, when you equip armor, weapons, gloves, maybe, add-ons, or any clothing the character learns abilities relative to the piece of equipment. The battle system is also good because it isn't damage heavy, with limit's that deal around 30 hits of 9999, it is balanced, and bosses involve strategy for the average player, you don't just spam the KOTR summon, or the Lionheart limitbreak. and so, if you really want a good RPG, play Final fantasy 9
