It's more of a challenge of endurance to the fun towards the good game mechanics.

The Age of Kings is a vastly better game than the original, but the difficulty seemed to hold it back for me.

A great game, repairing the flaws of AOE I and still keeping the best of the original.

Started playing it in 1999, still playing it today. I can honestly say this is the one game that never gets old.
AOE2 will by no means ever have a real successor. Friends and I play it over LAN on our days off, and I have a bi-annual LAN party with my cousins that only includes this game. We've tried AOE3 and some other newer games... Read Full Review
