Dead Space.

I've always loved the Fallout opening sequences.

Fallout 3 and Tales of Vesperia in terms of 360 games. I guess BioShock was also pretty cool.

For 360- BioShock

Overall- FFX or Persona 3

For 360 - Ballad of Gay Tony

I'd only played the demo, but Brutal Legend had the funniest and best one I've seen.

I liked Mass effects opening because you could change things around in your charechters history, and the opening would reflect that.

Oblivion's. The music was just epic.

On the 360 (only) It's a tie between Lost Odyssey and Bioshock. Someone mentioned ToV and thats a close runner up as well!

Bioshock.

It's a really obscure game... And not even from the 360. But my favourite is the opening to Blood Will Tell.

For the 360, i'd probably say Blue Dragon... then again, I don't have many 360 games

I personally liked the opening of RE5... Really cinematic in a Black Hawk Down(shaky cam and smash zooms a la Ridley Scott) and WET has a nice intro scene.

the way Mass Effect draws you in is subtle. very good. :D

I'm also a sucker for the cheese-mode intro to SF4. :P lol

Tales of Vesperia

Tales of Vesperia and Lost Odyssey are easily my favorites.

Super Mario Bros. It told you how many lives you had and made you go out and kick some Koopa @ss. Perfection.

yup probably the best or some of the cgi work of this gen and the transition into gameplay was cool as hell.

goin old school.

Its got Hot chicks in leather, crashes, explosions, face tatooed freaks and the Globe of death. Did i Mention lots of motorcycles.

COD4 intro set the mood pretty good.

But i'll give nod to Lost odyssey

The intro to Soul Blade. NOTHING can top that.

the opening to lord of the rings the two towers when it transitions from movie footage to game. AWESOME

Lost Odyssey was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the topic

the opening scene from metal gear solid on PS1 and gears 2 when the president is giving his pep rally speech...almost brought tears to my eyes, lol

The beggining of the lost and damned was pretty awsome so was Bioshocks

Mass Effect. And even though I didn't like the game much, it was cool in Fable 2 where you played as a kid and certain decisions you made shaped the town.

Dead Rising

you photographed some of the riots in the streets. then an old annoying lady scene, looking for her stupid zombie dog...aaand action you surrounded by zombies. oh no i don't have any kinda weapon, just my camera. then you look around...voila everything is a weapon.

THAT'S JUST EXCELLENT!
