Half-Life 2, the intro intrigued the hell outta me.

Mass Effect's introduction was epic when you played through it, with a character that you already beat your game with...because the whole walking through the Normandy with your /badass/ armour beats everything.

Mass Effect and Halo 3. COD4 also.

Bioshock... and why do people start these kind of threads and not offer their own opinion? It's like "I came up with an idea for a thread - here it is - bye!"

AND YET NOONE HAS MENTIONED THE BEST OPENING CUTSCENE YET: PROTOTYPE. EVERYONE GO AND WATCH THIS CUTSCENE NOW! IT IS AN AWESOME CUTSCENE! TOO BAD THE GAME ISN'T AS AWESOME...

well i just got a copy of Bayonetta today and i have to say the intro and the rest of the opening chapter is just insane. Amazing game by the way, i find it better than DMC4 and GOW3 to be honest.
