The gameplay in koa seemed alot like a better version of fableI will be getting it...eventually.
Maybe after a price drop. I have been playing Skyrim a lot and when i played the demo of KOA it seemed very...ammm.. "basic". ;)
I need to wait a bit before the "Skyrim effect" wears out. IF it wears out.

The gameplay is better then fablethis game is better then fable and fable wasn't a bad gameI might be, still undecided..
The demo was good, but I kept thinking 'Fable' the whole way through.

Yeah, I liked Fable 2 well enough. Fable 3 was a bit of a downer, though. Kinda spoiled the Fable experience for me, but like I said, I'm still undecided. I'll probably just wait for reviews.

play the demo....and that new fable game, fable the journey looks interesting...it uses kinectGonna pass on this one, too Fable-y for my tastes.gamerfreak1991The combat system has its differences from fable
kingdoms of amalur is better then mass effect and the witcher...alot cleaner tooThe gameplay doesn't flow as smoothy as it did in Fable.
It's not a day one purchase for me. It seemed to cartoonish for my tastes. I'll wait for Mass Effect 3 and The Witcher 2.

None of those games are even out yet (well, I guess witcher 2 is for pc) so you can't say whether one is better than the other...

I already know both games have lots of mature content and i like clean games.[QUOTE="Elderscrolls101"]I already know both games have lots of mature content and i like clean games.bessy67
Ok, i can see that point. Although there's really nothing in Mass Effect that you don't see in a pg-13 movie.
mass effect has strong language and partial nudity and stuff. pg 13 movies don't have as much as thatI wanted to give KoA a chance so I played the demo pretty thoroughly.
Pros:
Cons:
This game isn't even better than Fable 1 The Lost Chapters. Not even close.
Note: Before you come at me all wrong, I think KoA is an okay game. Nowhere near brilliant or even great. It might be very good in the full game. My opinions are based solely on the DEMO, and demo alone. So do not take it further than that. I think the pros and cons I pointed out are fair and are some of the game's problems. The Fable 1 comparison might be a bit of a cheap shot, but I wanted to point out how a new modern day game in 2012 is barely better if not equal to a game that came out many years ago.
The demo was a lot of fun, definately getting the game, but not sure whether to get it for PC or Xbox
think about what platform you will be getting me3 on. im getting amalur on xbox cuz i have lots of items unlockedThe demo was a lot of fun, definately getting the game, but not sure whether to get it for PC or Xbox

But its hooked up to your EA Account so I don't think it matters

Pros:
- Good art style
- Excellent optimization, runs butter smooth
- Solid combat
- Satisfying finishers (fate shift)
- Plenty to loot
- Good voice acting
- Awesome boss fights/mini boss fights
Cons:
- Although the art style might be strong, the graphics engine itself is outdated. (had settings on maxed, 1920x1200, it isn't a demanding game at all runs smooth as butter).
- Texture pop-in. Texture pop-in. Texture pop-in. Textures pop in just a few feet from the character. I expect texture pop-in for grass and terrain from a distance but not THAT close. And it's very consistent at that. Especially the terrain.
- Combat can be unresponsive when trying to use dodge or roll. There is a .5-1 second lag and half the time dodging doesn't even work
- Character customization is horrible. They should have opted for an already-made Hero. It would have given the game a lot more personality.
- Menu lag. I hate to use Fable 2 as a comparison, but KoA suffers the same menu lag, and unresponsiveness. For example, when you click on "inventory" near the top of the button line, it won't take you to inventory. You have to click near the bottom of it for it to flip the page.
- User interface is clunky. Simple things like managing inventory - weapons and armor should have done without the clunky menu pages. Instead, they should have used a character page like in MMO's. Press "C" to pull up character inventory to easily equip items and loot.
- Camera view is controlled by the game and not you (the adventurer. There is no point in a beautiful and robust world when you cannot even look at it in all it's glory. Not to mention, the fixed camera angle is annoying or FOV as you will. Maybe there will be a config fix for PC gamers? I doubt it though. This to me is the deal-breaker. I won't be buying it because of that. A third-person adventure game like this should let you pan out the camera and give you full control.
- The Shield. I don't like the idea of using my shield as an afterthought. Shift to block. Why isn't my character equipped with the shield like In Zelda OoT, and then it blocks when you use block button?
- Holding down X for fate shift, while you are combating enemies? This might work well with a control pad but a horrible idea in control scheme for Keyboard and Mouse. It should be a one button push. Plain and simple. Yes, I really want to hold down X, while I dodge and roll, and hack away at enemies. At this rate, my hands would be crippled.
- The character sheathes its weapon by itself (automatically). I hate it. I want to be able to sheathe my own weapon at all times. Even when you're in combat, it sheathes the weapon! For example, you're fighting one mob on the other side of the area, and kill it. You run over to the other side to fight the other mob and while you ran over, he sheathed his weapon. If I want my weapons out, I should be able to do so.
- Most NPC's look generic. Most dwarfs look the same. Most humans look the same, like they came out of a bad hercules cartoon.

Thats a pretty long post. Funny thing is, this is exactly how I felt about the demo. Exactly (aside from Fable comment, never played it). When did you learn to mind read? Quite scary how you basically typed what I was going to.

Exactly why I'm passing on this one. I got the same exact feeling, and sadly, I really dislike the Fable series.I might be, still undecided..
The demo was good, but I kept thinking 'Fable' the whole way through.
