It won't let me download it! I don't have the option of "Preview the Beta" or "Play the beta". All I have is the option of "Extras" and when I select it, it says is "this option is currently unavailable right now" or something like that. damn it!
Hey - I had that problem too - Ended up going into System Pref. deleting the Reach download and starting it again. As per usual - Bungie have put this out to download the same time, all over the world. I'm thinking that my 28mins @ 70% download isn't the result of my 8mb download speed, but the fact EVERYONE is getting it :P.
I managed to get some games in, I'm really liking it. But now when im trying to join another one, the same message appears that the Halo Reach server is not available at this time...Ah well. I'll try later
Anyone else having trouble downloading? Mine stops whenever I close the download screen and won't appear in active downloads.

Yeah - You can't cancel out of the download screen until it's done. Otherwise it will close down, then you have to restart it - but then even doing that makes it play up. We all need to be patient :)
Eh, it's alright. People keep dropping out of games, most likely due to the server being unavailable 'at this time'... New weapons are sexy though, battle rifle looks and fires pretty nicely.
Was up to 50% then got a message from an xbox live friend. So pressed the guide button to read it and it canceled the download. Now i have to start again.

Crappers man :( I've been playing for the last 20mins.. The servers are apparently being overloaded and crashing everytime they reset them to try and resolve issues. I should imagine they will have be at full functionality sometime tomorrow (GMT I mean).
I've only played a few games but love it so far. I'm still not used to meleeing with the RB button. I have it on Recon settings now but wish the reload would go back to the X button instead RB. Gotta tell bungie this on bnet.
the server just crashed on my fourth game and as it seems people don't know how to choose maps because 3 of the matches I have been in were stockpile. Also is it just my Xbox or does the beta have very thick film grain?
Game finally downloaded and now it says the servers are down. Got to be up at 7 for work 2moz and its 10pm here so can only really wait another hour before i give up.
mine only took 30min to download yayayay BUT servers are down :-( ....played only for a little bit....fml

lol I only got to play 1 game and it was beautiful :cry:It was, I'm flat out addicted to the game. I'm gonna cry when they shut down the beta. I'm eagerly anticipating the game this fall.
I was hawking this game since 3am... luckily I was probably one of the first people on it. Got through 6 games. Change the controls to Recon... Halo isn't Halo w/o the "B" button being Melee. Too bad the damn servers blew up. I mean there were only 160,000 people on when they orignially went down. I know they have people downloading too, but you'd think they'd have a completely different server setup for that so it wouldn't effect the game. Oh well guess I'll keep waiting...

Sadly dissapointed. I know its just a beta, but I had higher hopes for this one. Maybe I really suck at Halo, but most of the guns feel underpowered. The Assault rifle feels pretty much useless as the default gun. I empty clip after clip into guys and they still walk away.To kill or get killed seems largely based on throwing a well placed grenade and then getting in a few quick shots. Personally I find the action too fast inHalo games to pull ofhead shots on a regular basis. I will keepplaying the beta tillit stops but I am honestly riding the fence now on whether or not I will purchase the final release. Needless to say I am one fan who is let down by this beta.Not sure why every company feels the need to change mutiplayer so much from previous games. If it aint broke don't fix it.
I just got home from work so I bet there's a huge wave of people who work the 9-5.. downloading it right now as we speak. My download is barely creeping at 5% and it has been a good 5 minutes. At this rate, it'll take over an hour to download the entire thing.. and I have a great connection speed. Too much traffic!

So after playing the Reach beta for about 2 hours yesterday, I have to say that the secondary abilites they added in are the breath of fresh air that Halo needed. So far me, I prefer using either Active Camo or Jet Pack. The new weapons are sweet as well. The Focus Rifle is simply a beast and the DMR is awesome. I'd like to see Bungie work within these classes and give them certain weapon s to start with. My only complaint with Reach is that I simply dont see Bungie pushing the 360's graphical capabilities. The graphics look just like Halo 3 and ODST to me. Now that being said, I am not a graphics whore or anyhting, but I figured that in the 3 years since Halo 3 was released, Bungie would have been able to push the 360 a little harder. Maybe they will be improved for the final product. Based on my playtime thus far, Reach will once again give 360 gamers years of playtime just as every other Halo game has!!
