Well if they do come out with another one. I've learned to buy later when it's both cheaper and they've release the souped up bigger and better version of what they just sold you a week before. Plus you don't have to be the guinea pigs who get all the faulty ones they didn't work on much. But I can't complain too loudly. My 360 is a year old and I sent it in for about 2 weeks beause the disc drive broke. Got a brand new one right away.

Why exactly is that? That's like saying my 200gb hdd is obsolete because 300gbs are now on the market. It's JUST a storage medium. The bluray, in and of itself, doesn't make games better or worse. And dvds will be around for a while even after this consoles life cycle has ended, even the ps3s. Only about 30ish% even have HDTVs right now. I wouldn't worry about dvds falling off the radar just yet.
Precisely, the storage medium does matter. The DVD only can hold 6 gigs, which means there is a limit to how much information can be programmed onto the disc. Why else would there be so much DL content for games? They couldn't fit all the info on one DVD and of course M$ makes more money with DL. If there is already a problem with the storage size of the disc, it can only get worse over time.
I don't expect DVDs to go anywhere soon, I still have a tape deck in my car and I use it.
I'm going to mod my 360 once the next xbox releases. Not hax mod, but a physical case mod. Tbh the 360 is kind of a dead end imo, if it weren't for a few exclusives and the low trade in value, I would have tossed this puppy ages ago :) Bring on the new system, if it passes REAL quality control measures, maybe I'll buy it. Or maybe I'll go back to my policy of not buying MS consoles :P
Allright so industry analysts are predicting this generation could last upwards of ten years and economists are saying its got another year and a half....WTF there is some serious contradiction here.
