What's your definition of a good game? What factors do to take into consideration and disregard when judging a game? For instance, does the story matter or is it all about the multiplayer? Does the music or the graphics affect your opinion of the game? Stuff like that.RoseFlambe169I like a good story, graphics, and soundtrack that fits it.

Instincts...I rely on my instincts, nothing elseÂ
I think a soundtrack can really hurt or promote a game. I mean, for something like The World Ends With You where a hecka lotta people liked the music, it made everything about the game so much better, not to mention the whole thing was practically revolved around music and general noise. On the other hand, say if you've got Harvest Moon music and the game isn't Harvest Moon, that'll drive me absolutely nuts. Like at Traverse Town in Kingdom Hearts. Man! I still can't wipe that darn tune from my memory!

That figures. :P
IMO, gameplay and story is what matters in a good quality game, not the graphics.tekken220
GRAPHICS JUST ADDS UP TO THE GAME'S QUALITY BUT ITS NOT very important

Now I love nice graphics but I still play Pacman and stuff.
aal the new gen games have stunning graphics so you new gen players dont need to worry much about graphics just gameplay:)
Gameplay is #1 usually, and graphics, story and replayability usually depend on what game it is. if the game has no multiplayer and it's short (Uncharted 1) it's got to have replayability. if it's long (RPGs) it doesn't need it badly. And if it has multiplayer (CoD) then it can be short, too. graphics depend on the era, and story depends on the type of gamealtoids007Nicely said.
Replayability. :P Sorry, my spelling bug twitched.RoseFlambe169wait, your only factor is replayability? when you don't even finish games? :P

For me story is most important and gameplay is second. voiceacting (if the game has it) is third and then graphics. Online is only important if the game is a online heavy game such as Battlefield 2. On the other hand I could care less if Mass Effect has online.
Awesome, I like Resident Evil and AC as well, Ive only played the first AC though. What consoles you got?bob_toebackU should get AC 2 sometime coz AC2>>>AC
Cool, I like N64 a whole lot, some very good games on there, games that Ive been able to play for years and not get board of. Maybe it has to do with age and stuff, but those games seemed a lot better than some new ones, though there are some great new ones too, just doesnt seem to capture the feel you know? I also like the SNES, though Ive never been good at it, plan on beating Donkey Kong Country by myself at some pointbob_toebackDonkey Kong was always cool.:D

Well AC 2 has better storyline, has more weapons and missions are not repetitive like AC[QUOTE="bob_toeback"]Cool, I like N64 a whole lot, some very good games on there, games that Ive been able to play for years and not get board of. agreed :D I beat it with my brother a couple months ago, but I'm still no good at it, so pretty much, he beat it :P
I was thinking of getting AC2, looks pretty good, especially with there being more weapons. If I do get one, would that be the one, or will brotherhood be better? I guess the second one will probably go down in price with Brotherhoods release
also, is anyone looking forward to Mafia II? That looks pretty awesome at the moment :D

Are you gonna play it?Â

As an oldschool SNES player myself I would have the need bring up the subject of how much SNES games are superior to many modern ones in several ways that people often ignore. I mean sure the graphics and all, but still SNES has that something that makes games much more intelectual, creative, original and pun. The thnig is when I'm playing a modern game the only better quality I find than in the oldies is the graphics, which from my POV isn't as important as the idea of the flow of the game.
Now I wanted to ask is this just my view or what do other peole think about it?:|spirit7someguy

Tried many. e.g. shooters (Killzone, Halo etc), car games, fantasy and so on.
I'll give Megaman for example, Megaman X4 was a clasic with rich storyline, they payed attention to every detail from graphic originality to music, while Megaman X8 was quite shallow and only had a more proffesional gaming design program. IMO.
