reach is the best imo. CE was great but let down by the library, to many corridors and lots of back tracking.

I haven't tried Reach yet but for me ODST was the worst campaign in the series.

Im fine with them putting reach at number one... but saying 3 is better than CE is a joke imo.. even ODST which I thought was pretty terrible

So Ign posts their opinion on the halo campaigns? and you make out that its stupid...and then post your opinion on the halo reach campaigns which others might not agree with either?

whats your problem? when are people going to figure out that official sites are giving opinions not the official word by any means. People need to stop making fun of other sites as though this is the fact of the matter that they are officially giving the word handed down from god, instead of just opinions.

in terms of story presentation and emotional impact, Reach wins easily.

Granted Halo CE didn't really have the robust multiplayer and all of the campaigns for Halo are stellar (Halo 2 included, haters gonna hate).

I thought Reach's campaignwas meh even for a FPS, if that's considered the "best" then I guess I really didn't miss out when it comes to the rest of the franchise.

Everything but Halo 2 (which was terrible) is fairly interchangable. The first two-thirds of CE are the best in the franchise, but the repetitive level design, flood and ****ing Library really drag things down in the final act. Similarly, Halo 3 had some really great moments (particularly anything involving Scarabs), but Cortana could compete with The Library as the worst level in the franchise. ODST was a great concept and generally played well, but Bungie didn't take the "you're a squishy human" idea far enough and put too much onus on the "look, it's Mal, Wash and Jayne from Firefly!" aspect of the story. Finally, Reach is the most consistent quality-wise and lacks the rest of the series' trademark-awful-level, but it doesn't reach the highs of the better levels in CE and 3 either.

I'd rank it as (with the caveat I haven't played any of the first three titles recently, so the results are probably skewed in favour of CE and against 2 and 3):

3. ODST
4. 3
5. 2

CE>Reach>3>2>ODST

I don't know why people complain so much about the library level. I love doing that one on legendary by myself or with a buddy.

I've played CE, but never finished it, nor did I own the game when I had actually played it. so no comment yet.

I only finished CE. I know that many people found that to be their favorite when it comes to single player campaign. I still wonder though, if I would truly find CE to be the best... I mean the level design in that game wasn't very good in a lot of situations and I really can't imagine having the other games in the series being worse in that department...

I really have to start thinking about playing the other games, since I'm somewhat interested in the Halo series.

I honestly don't have much of a problem with Reach being number one, but CE for its time was absolutely amazing...so you do have to take that into the equation.

IGNlists are full of fail.

They said the South Park movie was the 6th best animated movie o all time.

Above things like the Lion King:evil:

CE was easily best. Reach probably second, then 2, 3, ODST. ODST's campaign was like 4 hours long :|
