its should be fix by now, I had it turn off xbox 1 then came back later in the day and it was back to normal...

It doesn't require it. People were disconnecting their Xboxes from the net and they were playing fine. I'm guessing with a system connected online, XBL was looking for things to update and whatnot.

Folks might not know how to go offline when the menus don't work or the console doesn't get past the startup. Your console should still work no matter what.

Im part of the skip ahead alpha for xbox. I can't count the amount of times it's had an update that's a fresh install or just buggy. I do get updates a while in advance though.

Yhh mine went last night. Tried hard resetting and general poking and prodding but nothing worked. Then I read someone had solved it by disconnecting there wifi, and that sorted it out so all good (in the end...)

Turned on today and it works. Kudos to Microsoft for being fast in fixing this issue

yeah it lasted a couple of hours and nobody's console was broken. I dont know anyone that was effected. But it was scary for some.
