Xbox's around the world getting a black screen

So this is cow gold right here. My Xbox just got bricked (don't know how bad it is) do to a wide spread issue. Don't know if it's related to an upgrade but something big is going on. Anyone else affected?

I hate the terms Cow and Lem, you all need to grow the **** up, talk properly, bunch of kids.

My Xbox seems to be fine at the moment.

Don't own one anymore, but this does not surprise me.

Just happened to me, can't get to dash but I can get a display by holding dash button that gives me option to turn console off, controller off, report problem, etc, also can get dash bar but can't interface with it, doing hard reset didn't fix, doing factory reset (hard power down, hold sync and eject buttons then hit power, release sync and eject when it beeps), hope the his helps buy if it updates to what messed it up then I'll be waiting for MS to fix whatever messed this up

Factory reset didn't work, got to a dash but can't get dash tab to interface which I need to get too settings and such, so, far problem seems to be an update issue I hope they fix soon

If it was a Sony issue I know xbox fans would go ham on the fanboy non-sense trying to make a point about this being why they choose xbox over Sony but the fact is hardware falls and no software infallible.

It sucks to loose your system, so I'll save those taunts for a more appropriate thread.

Hopefully MS will offer a replacement or something if this is a mass issue.

I’m keeping mine turned off til an official word from Microsoft comes out. Luckily I’ve been at work all day and haven’t played any games on any of my systems.

If anyone comes in here making fun of what happened to someone's console regardless of their console of choice that person is a fucking asshole. We are all gamers first and this needs to be remembered. This should be in general not system wars in my opinion, more people should know, maybe mods can move or TC can make a second post in game discussion.

No software is infallible. Bugs and glitches happen.

PS4 has had a few software issues in the past as well although nothing quite as serious as this one sounds.

I thought for sure my Xbox One X was dead lol. Something like this is a pretty big screw up I can't even do anything after I factory reset it. Just a black screen, and when I press the dash button it pops up sometimes while making the audio que of opening it.

The update Microsoft put out was bugged therefore they took it down (which is what caused the error on the xbox systems regardless of what happened to your specific device) and now they are in the process of trying to fix it. Its in the article if you read it. I got kicked and had to restart only to find a black screen. That was 30 minutes ago but now everything is slowly starting to come back on my screen. I can't log back on yet but its progress and better than a black screen.

@ProtossRushX: the ps4 update actually did this exact same thing yesterday (brand new, not even a month old) and it took about an hour for it to come back up as well. Maybe it's the recent updates that have been put out themselves. I love my Xbox and I wouldn't trade it for anything but my ps4 did the exact same thing to. So its highly unlikely that its just an "Xbox" issue.

Damn. That’s pretty scary. Mine seems to be working fine but I think I’ll take some precautions until this gets sorted out.

Haven't turned on my console yet today. Hopefully, it will get fixed quickly.

@jeezers: I barely run into drivers issues when I get my notification from Nvidia and a virus, never got one of those, guess I'm just lucky to never get one of those buggers. But you are right, PC can get issues if you don't know what your doing.

Hell, even the RTX like those of 2080Ti & 2070 got some bugs issues from various users I heard. Yeah, PC may have problems but so far, were always hearing problems on consoles more so then on PC.

All you had to do was a full reset and wait 10 minutes until Microsoft fixed the issue.

Microsoft have many problems with software. It why people buy Apple computer. It give you less ram and cost more but it the software make your purchase worth it. No fingers to point.

Shit can happen even if you know what you are doing. Any tech that I have working for me ever say they have never had issues will never be hired because they are full of shit period.

Shit happens and it already sounds Microsoft has a fix in place. No big deal, just something that happens in the tech world. Hell just look at Apple's latest **** up.

It not about how much it just fact why people buy. It for software. It just Apple. If you have problem you just go to Apple. With Window it have different driver from different manufacturers. Asus or Lenovo it have different driver, as example. Each video card have different driver, etc etc etc. Microsoft point finger at asus driver, asus driver point finger at amd driver, amd point finger at Microsoft driver. Too much nonsense.

Hell I run an IT department with over 5,000+ devices and I feel sorry when this shit happens to someone like Apple and Microsoft. I can't imagine dealing with that many devices in the scale that they do. One screw up can mess up a lot of systems so I am always laid back knowing they will get it figured out and nothing to freak out about. We live in a very connected society so this type of shit will happen, just part of it.

I've heard Switches across the world also have black screens, but that's just because people have stopped turning them on due to lack of games.

I see your point. I use a Pixel Chromebook for 90% of my work and love it actually. :) I can spin up a virtual machine and do anything I need when the Chromebook is not enough. Since the majority of my world is cloud based now the Chromebook is just a perfect fit. The hardware is outstanding on certain Chromebooks also.

Tell that to the 87% of computers in the world running the Windows OS.
