Why JRPGs are garbage

I made a thread a couple of weeks back about the terrible writing on 360 exclusives. Anyone over the age of 12 who has played them would agree that even pokemon has a far more sophisticated storyline than Halo and Gears of War.

You guys all remember the part where one of the douchebags said, "I wish I had asked her more questions" 2 seconds after he left the Queen Locust's lair? Yeah, no game can beat Gears of War's stupidity... No game EXCEPT JRPGs.

Things like this just make me want to cringe.

I'd imagine the text in that dialog is ment to be humorous and not to be taken seriously.  Doesn't seem cringe worthy if you ask me.   And even if it was to be taken seriously, King Wo seems pretty bad ass to me.

i've only played 15 minutes of the first gears game. couldn't get into it. :|

Many people don't even bother with CoD's campaign mode. It's a shame. CoD: BO2's campaign was one of the greatest moments in FPS history.

JRPG defenders defending their crappy products:

JRPGs are garbage now because the genre has barely progressed and any kind of change that has been attempted by devs has been met with mass outcry.

Dark Dawn has the weakest writing of the Golden Sun games by far, but that doesn't mean that you can judge the entire genre based off of it.
