What will be the next generation defining game in your opinion?

I would say Avowed, Starfield, Elder Scrolls VI, and GOW2 show the most promise of "Damn, this is gonna be soooo good!" but none of them have any actual gameplay trailers to go off of and they're all years (or half a decade) away from release, so It's just guessing and wishful thinking at this point.

Ill consult my future telling device. It tells me the next gen defining game will be titled SackOden202. Requesting detailed information, it told me "naw, don wanna spoil anything".

What's so innovative about Deathloop?

Right now it's Alyx. People who haven't played it can't appreciate what it accomplished.

I guess there aren't many games that play like Deathloop, but "innovative"? Deathloop is basically Dishonored in a different format.

We're well past the point of diminishing returns when it comes to graphics. Every generation going forward is going to have less and less significance over the previous. Remember that big leap from SNES to N64? Yeah, those big leaps in technology are long gone. Now generations just sort of blend together. There is nothing that's going to signify some kind of defining point.

Dishonroed was not FPS. in case of deathloop there no FPS done like this before. plus having time loop elements where you die and loop restart.

Time loops have been done before in video games, dating back to YU-NO and Zelda: Majora's Mask in the late '90s. But it hasn't been done before in FPS, as far as I know.

Honestly, after everything we've seen announced for the next gen systems since their inception... it seems the upcoming reboot of Saints Row defines this new generation very well... disappointing.

No idea, this gen is only at its infancy.

PC has won almost every year for GFX-King for the last 10 years at DF, and contains a majority of runner ups for this entire period. This most importantly includes 2020 and the Gen8 winner according to DF. This year remains to be completed, but PC will likely win again by the end of 2021 as it typically does.

Have fun fighting a far distant 2nd or 3rd place in GFX while playing the worst looking and running version of 99% of releases. Low settings and low fps, this is your home. Know your place.

Nice try, but you need to try harder, hermit. Talk to me when any pc exclusives approaches Ratchet in visuals. Won't happen for years. Nobody puts effort in pc exclusives because they don't sell nowhere near enough for it to be worth it. Consoles is what's leading the industry, and Sony is the best on production quality. You can always beg for Ratchet to come to pc. It might happen by 2028.

PC had around 100 more high scoring games than PS, the vastly superior looking/running version of 90%+ of video games that were/are on PS, and was/is GFX KING over PS.

DF Face-Off usually gives the win to PC for most multiplats and most overalls, crying about prices doesn't change this.
