What will be the biggest bombshells from E3 2014?

A Valve game that has Half, Life and 3 in its title. But that'll never happen.

Microsoft will come out and state they have bought exclusive rights to every 3rd party game for the entirety of the 8th console generation.

But in all seriousness, I do believe we'll be getting a new Dino Crisis, and I do think that'll be the big Microsoft 3rd party exclusive.

It makes sense financially for ANY 3rd party studio to make their game multiplat unless:

1. One console manufacturer is paying them a large sum of money for exclusivity to make up for the lost opportunity cost.

2. There is such a large difference between the consoles in either capabilities, or additional required coding/development time, that making the game multiplat will severely compromise quality and reduce sales or lengthen development time substantially.

Half-3: Life is a new simulation game from Valve where you play as an eighteen month old

"We chose Unreal Engine 4 because it comes pre-packaged with excellent human defecant material based shaders, essentially in this game because the protagonist cannot control their bowels"

Gabe's not giving away much yet, however it seems the gameplay is based around unwrapping christmas presents, playing with the toys, then trying to re-wrap the presents in a manner undetectable by the parent AI.

Half-3: Life, has no release date.

I don't know. I have a feeling something might happen with Nintendo, but I'd be surprised is Microsoft was able to purchase them. I could actually see them purchasing Activision, EA or even Take-Two Interactive before Nintendo. We'll see what happens. I know it's going to be BIG though. If any of these companies are purchased by Microsoft, SONY loses E3.

If Sony drops the price of the PS4 by $20 I think it'll cause a huge explosion of anti-Xbox One sentiment. MS did announce their $400 SKU well in advance for Sony to consider this. So, the post E3 reaction among gamers would be the Xbox One is still more expensive and still weaker, and outmatched by the number of Sony exclusives (which a majority of which will be small indie titles but still, MORE). This would leave MS spending months damage controlling this perception, just like the previous year reveal and E3 show. That sentiment will be compounded by any non-gaming features talked about at E3 that MS isn't serious about gaming. I don't agree with that but that would be the mass perception.

Whether that will happen or not remains to be seen, probably not happening, but I think if it did happen then it would have a huge impact. One could argue Sony's success to date would make such a move unnecessary, but if dominating the competition is the game then any edge in the market is vital.

Bombshells tend to be surprises. If we knew what was going to be the biggest bombshells before they happened they don't count.

Nintendo is going to go all out for WiiU so much it's gonna make everyone on this forum blush

I have a feeling this years E3 will be boring. There will be some good teasers but we won't see anything concrete until E3 2015.

If I had to make one bold prediction it would be that Nintendo will come out guns blazing. I mean they kinda have to right?

I guess the biggest bombshell so far was Sony canceling The Last Guardian.

But that's Pre-E3 so does that count?

I hope Star Fox and Metroid will be the big surprises.

Sony has a lovely presentation showcasing The Last Guardian, The order and many more. Then they show a sick trailer for Uncharted 4 and right at the end of the presentation it reads "Out 15\11\14". Audience screams like little girls:P

True, but if they show some nice next gen Demon's Souls 2 game-play it would be about as exciting of an announcement as you can have. I don't see how Sony could announce anything "bigger" than a next gen exclusive Souls game, and a new Uncharted. Although I have to admit, I'm always hoping for new IP's (or resurrecting some long dorment IP). To "win" E3 they need to have 1 more thing up their sleeves besides these 2.

Microsoft surely will have a bombshell or two to drop. But I have to LOL at the guy thinking it will be Fallout. Resident Evil is also barely plausible just because Capcom; but it would be pretty stupid of both parties to do this (MS to trust Capcom making an AAA game, and Capcom to kill their franchise even further). I'm sure 1 major bomb will be Halo, my guess is the other one is either Gears, or maybe a new IP. Fallout would be huge, but it aint happening. Resident Evil would just be laughable.

For me, Backwards compatibility would be the killer MEGATON! If ME4, Star Wars Battlefront, Fallout, or GTA 5 were timed exclusives those would be pretty big too. But Crackdown 3 and showing just what the Cloud can do will be big as well. Hoping for Halo 5 gameplay too!

If they announce that, I'll freak out. Seriously.

One of the best games ever. Got the LE when it came out.

Not sure why MS hasn't pounced on it yet. They have the money to fund the project, and make it an exclusive. I'm sure the guys at Bio wouldn't mind making it if that were the case.

With MS going the route of multiplats and indies, looks like we have to wait until Sony's conference for potential bombshells.

No bombshells so far? Microsoft press conference was very good, but also pedestrian in terms of what was announced. EA's conference was terrible.

Guess it's up to Sony to save gaming as usual.
