That did not... Spam
I was never going to click on that, lol.
Wolf 3D for me too. Well first proper FPS, sure I've played a good few with First person perspective mind before Wolf 3D.
@ghosts4ever: We couldn't be that lucky.
I feel like Ghosts could've stumbled into anything in his younger days and would have went all in.
Like if on that one fated day, he would have tried FF7 instead of Half Life, we'd be dealing with some obnoxious weeb spamming JRPG threads instead.

I think? I know its the game that got me into fps's, tho.
For me, it was this game that got me into FPS:
Essentially an inferior Perfect Dark :)
I remember playing it after having spent a lot of time with PD, and i simply couldn't understand where the hype is coming from. All the positives of Goldeneye were in PD plus much more.
@hardwenzen: Don't get me wrong, Perfect Dark is indeed a huge evolution to Goldeneye and love it back then. Goldeneye for its time was like anything we have ever play on N64 when it came out. The game even introduce me to the movie and was consider the best license movie game of its time, it gets way too many praise all because the movie was actually good and one of Pierce Brosnan's 007 yet.
But yeah, if you played PD first before Goldeneye, you totally miss out the magic Goldeneye had lol. My bad, nostalgic sometimes gets the better me.
If memory serves me right it was either Doom or a Doom clone but I didn't really like it back then. After that I played one of the Virtua Cop games and Goldeneye, first time I've had fun on an fps.
A very crappy Doom clone back in the PS1 era ... don't even remember the name but it was very, very crappy ... it gave me motion sickness and i didn't want to touch another FPS after that one.
After that i got to play Turok on the N64 and well, it gave motion sickness as well ... but the game was far, far better at least didn't kept me away from the genre ... but of course good old GoldenEye was the first one i truly enjoyed and even the motion sickness was only present after long hours of single player game.
Mine was Medal of Honor: Allied Assault on my very first PC playing online using Gamespot's very own Gamespy system.
The Single player campaign, the Beach Landings, the undercover mission (showing your Papers)... the Multiplayer maps.. Destroyed Village, Remagen, Snowy Park...
My second memory is that of Half-Life which absolutely blew me away.. i hold such fond memories of both these games which are timeless classics imo.
Been a long time. But the one that I either first chose to rent/buy myself; probably n64 the world is not enough. Not a bad game.
It was either Doom or Duke. I technically wasn't allowed to play either game back then, but it didn't stop me from being a little sneaky or my parents being a little naive a couple times and playing under their supervision (my dad had Duke).
But the first games I got the most out of and I was allowed to play? Chex Quest and later Goldeneye (especially the latter).
