What has the worst launch of this generation been so far?

Tony Hawks flat out doesn't work in general while both of those games do.

There's also the fact that Tony Hawk is a smaller release that not as many people cared about- Halo and Street Fighter are obviously bigger games, and so they got more exposure, and more people caring about the state that they launched in. A lot of people probably don't even know that Tony Hawk 5 exists.

I'm still sticking with Street Fighter V, the impact of The Master Chief Collection may be larger and hold more weight, but the fact that SFV was forced out the door knowingly broken even with multiple betas, missing rudimentary modes, features, options, content, must be played online to progress and attain items, characters & money, and also has a strong emphasis on funneling people into the micro-transaction marketplace by making it difficult to attain in game currency by simply playing; is a way bigger deal...

It's an unfinished Early Access game that is sold at retail for $60 with a full fledged micro-transaction hotbed designed to drive players towards it... It's a fucking dumpster fire...

Halo. None of those had anywhere near the expectations of Halo. It's a shame, if done right it could have been one of the best games of the generation. If it hadn't failed (and Halo 5) I would probably have an Xbox One instead of a PC as my main gaming platform.

Street fighter V has a chance to win this with their shoddy F2P transactions hidden behind a $60 paywall for the game, plus a broken netcode on release and lacking of content. The difference between street fighter and Halo is that Halo lasted for months in a poor condition, so street fighter would have to be similar to top it, but I don't see it happening with Capcom needing this to succeed.

I'd list every Xbox one suppose to be exclusive game and the stinking system! I use to be a big xbox supporter but they messed over the fans. PS4 all the way!!!!

Really? I wasn't aware Forza Horizon 2 had a bad launch. Or Sunset Overdrive. Or Rare Replay. Or Halo 5: Guardians.

Out of those choices I only played BF4 on PS4 when it launched and it had great gameplay, but it was marred by terrible connection issues and crazy rubberbanding that prompted me to sell that garbage.

Gotta say Arkham Knight. Master Chief Collection was also bad. I remember Battlefield 4 being rough... And, well, Tony Hawk was just a bad game I think. :S

Other: DC Infinite Crisis. The game was a buggy mess from launch and as a DC guy, this was a disappointing launch for me.

No, individual preferences and opinions do not come into this. It is a fact that the Wii U has the most number of high rated exclusives.

Whether or not one cares for those exclusives is an entirely different issue. It goes back to something I mentioned once in an earlier thread I made discussing the Xbox and PlayStation lineups- preferences are preferences, yes, and no one is wrong for preferring one thing over another. You are not wrong to not care for Wii U's lineup, assuming this to be the case. But you not caring about it doesn't change the fact that the Wii U does have the most number of high rated exclusives (on any metric you would like to pick).

I'd have to say DriveClub and Halo:MCC were the worst "offenders".

Though there are a couple (like Unity) that were pretty bad too.

I can get it for PC right now for $30, but there's nothing there, the servers are still fucked up, half the game doesn't exist, even the most rudimentary fighting modes or options, earning in game money or items requires a persistent internet connection, if it drops or the servers freak out for any reason you lose everything and get booted to the main menu, earning money naturally through fights has been handicapped so it's very difficult and takes an absurd amount of time so people will just say **** it and spend money in the micro-transaction system...

Out of those, MCC. No working online/marchmaking until January of 2015 (way too long for MS flagship franchise), single player achievements don't always unlock, game saves not saving progress, coop online still has frame rate issues to this day on Halo 3, and there were numerous bugs that were mostly ironed out in the campaigns. Game had some serious issues upon release. So many in fact that I regret buying it day 1, and I'd never buy another 343 game day 1 again.

Street Fighter 5. They got the basic gameplay down, but its just so bare bones that its a mess. They should have treated it as a early access game and charged $30 for it. Then it would have been tolerated as any other Early Access mess.

Battlefield 4 was terrible at launch.

If you played multiplayer, you lost your single player campaign. Of course, nobody cares about campaign in Battlefield. But how stupid and broken does a game have to be to delete your single player progress if you simply "start" multiplayer?

Now if the multiplayer was ok, this could have been forgiven (because like I said, nobody cares about single player in Battlefield). But the multiplayer also had issues that took many months to resolve. Eventually it became an excellent game, but at launch it was a disgraceful release IMO.

The type of person who wants the game but doesn't want to buy it currently because it's a disaster on nearly every front.

I'll go with MCC, considering what the collection meant to me. Getting into games is still pretty slow, especially compared to Halo 5. I'm glad I own it though. I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of it.

The only other game on that list I bought is AC: Unity, and that was after the launch issues. The game still sucked though.
