What 2016 games are candidates for a 10/10?

Gamespot seems to be more easygoing with those 10/10s these days, which means there is a legitimate possibility that at least one, if not more, game(s) will get a full score next year on this site.

The question is, which games do you think it will be?

Personally, I see the following three games as titles that may have a chance at a 10:

• The Legend of Zelda: It's Zelda, so it's always in with a chance to begin with; combine that with well done gameplay and a handcrafted open world with proper focused design, and it might legitimately manage a 10
• The Last Guardian: It's looking to be a great game, plus it's the kind of artistically inclined game that Gamespot really likes
• Persona 5: It's a refinement of the Persona formula to perfection, with multiple additions, and the advantage of it dealing with multiple social issues, which will probably endear it to reviewers

I have a sneaking suspicion that Rime will score really well.

No one has a Crystal Ball. Except me. I have the only one in existence. Here's what it says:

Zelda won't come out in 2016 and not a single game will score a 10 on this site next year.

And Persona 5 will get 6/10.

I'll go with Legend of Zelda Wii U with a 10/10.

Well obviously this is predicated on the currently announced release dates. That's all I have to go on, I can't claim to have any actual knowldge of which game does or does not make it out next year.

Also I can see Horizon: Dawn Zero getting a 9/10, yep. No, no a 10/10. Sony's next big thing. And I can see this game to be the next GOTY.

I hear you. It's really just more along the lines of an educated guess. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if a 2016 date was slapped on just so the interest stays apparent.

Shu specifically said they would not say ANYTHING about a release date if they were not confident they would make it.

• No Man's Sky: Literally the biggest game of all time. Has huge potential, just needs to live up to it. Would also help if it's not a full price game.
• Horizon: Zero Dawn: Guerrilla's technical prowess with the lead writer of Fallout: New Vegas, the quest designer of the Bloody Baron quest from The Witcher 3, among other RPG talent. The gameplay looks incredible so far and the world looks like a breath of fresh air. Practically a dream project.
• Uncharted 4: Any game from Naughty Dog has the potential to score a 10, especially one with Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann as leads. Top notch gameplay, story, and presentation. The behind closed doors E3 demo made journalists foam from the mouth. It helps that a certain reviewer isn't here anymore.

Oh and maybe NieR: Automata as well, the gameplay being done by Platinum with Yoko Taro and friends doing the story/world. Might be Platinum's best game of all time with their weaknesses being covered. Seems like a dream project.

Street Fighter 5 and Overwatch have a chance...

But competative games usually lose a point just because of no memorable campaign. I do like your suggestion of Zelda.

Developers make these kind of promises all the time. Means nothing. I'll believe it when I see it.

Uncharted 4 baby...

Guys I would lower your hype for Uncharted 4, TLG and maybe Persona. The developers that create these games have never had a history of producing games that get 10's on Gamespot if I recall, but I may be wrong about this.Also uncharted 4 is the 4th game in a series that has been going on for 8 years. I'm thinking that game has to be extra special to get a 10 on Gamepsot and GS has not been that kind to NaughtyDog's last couple of games. Anyway I think some indie game or one of the big third party games that release next year will be the ones that get a ten

Not expecting any at the moment. I would love for Zelda to be good enough to rightfully earn the 10, just not banking on it.

I think the ones listed in the OP have had their time.

I'd say Zelda and Persona 5. Those would probably be my only picks for 2016.

Unless ND pull an UC2, i'm thinking they'll get a solid 9.

Dark Souls 3 and Zelda have the highest chance. I don't see a game like ME4 getting a 10 but DeusEx may get it if its THAT good.

Cyberpunk 2077. It seems CD Project are getting better with each game. I just hope they continue or maintain the same quality in Cyberpunk. If they do, i think it will be a good contender for 10/10

I don't really see too many games having the potential for a 10.

I mean there's Quantum Break, Scalebound and Ni-Oh, but I just don't see anything else getting that kind of acclaim. I think the only games that have a shot are a few specific new IP's for next year, nothing continued. The Uncharted 4 thing seems to be a little naive at this point, an 8 is the most likely possibility but a 10 is reaching yet so many people seem to think it's going to happen, let's see how the hype thread fairs in that regard.

I'm predicting anywhere from a 7-9/10 for uncharted 4 and possibly a metacritic score anywhere from 86-93.
