The Steam Summer Sale (June 19)

Ugh I was gonna boycott Gearbox and never buy any of their games again but Borderlands 2 Goty edition for 9.99 yesterday....I broke down and bought it.

Doh! I paid 3.74 just yesterday...

Oh then I can't wait to see how my 6GB 7970 GHz Edition handles it.

Hmm, thanks for the responses. After reading these I think I'm convinced now to pick it up (hoping it also doesn't have Demon's Souls's lag issues as well).

I think I'll be done now for the sale, unless Broken Age (you let me down with the voting, community.) or Blood Dragon goes on sale again. In total picked up Half Life, The Orange Box, The Cave, Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition, Papers, Please, and (now) Dark Souls. Combine that with grabbing Gunpoint and the Indie Game: The Movie bundle shortly before the sale started, and I don't think I'll have much trouble finding something to play this summer.

I could turn off SSAA to improve performance but I've gotten used to how pretty it looks and cant bring myself to play it any other way now. 1440p everything maxed might be a stretch, would be interesting.

I'd hate to have to buy a 2nd 670,even if they're cheap now

All communities have an element of that, but mostly I have had good experience with the players of it. Ironically I just came from a bad moment.

I don't normally play games I just bought due to the huge backlog I need to work through, but if I remember later today, I will load the game up and play for about 5 minutes just to see how my card handles it and let you know.

When it came out LL ran like absolute crap on AMD cards.

I think it was a game update and not a driver update that fixed it, could be wrong, but after that the game ran flawlessly on my 3GB HD7950 and looked amazing.

So I'm sure you're card will have zero problems.

far cry 3 is pretty shit, ive played about an hour and got to the part where i had to retrieve some mushrooms so the doc can make a medicine. very underwhelming so far, was expecting it to be far better

also, i highly recommend people buy splinter cell blacklist, its an amazing game

I am pretty underwhelmed by this sale so far.. First wtf is with all these early access games being put into the daily deals? Furthermore some of these daily deals are AWFUL, i mean 30% off of a $15 game? Who gives a sh!t about that? If the game interested or not at the original price point, chances are a few dollars cheaper isn't going to some how change your mind.. In less your so frugal your budget is based around a few dollars difference.

Just don't use supersampling... The performance trade off is not worth it if you can't keep it above 60 fps. The game has built in fxaa.

Is Castle Crashers any good guys?

Some of these sales don't make sense. Last year Counter Strike: GO was 75% off and now it is only 50%

Excellent game though. I paid $15 for it when it came out on XBLA. Worth every penny (at least I think it was $15).

I really REALLY want The Secret World. $12 is outside my remaining budget ($5 left)... but Extra Credits really sold me on the game. Damn.

Is it worth going for the goty edition of tomb raider or is the normal version ok? Like how much content does all of that dlc add? Normally I would get it without thinking but if I do get the GOTY version I will have gone through my budget for the rest of the sale.

Yeah I went and bought the normal version.

Really want to grab Galactic Civ 2 and sins of solar empire but they havent gone on sale yet :/. I see too many damn early access games on sale. In the meantime really eyeing CoH 2. I loved the first one, but this one doesn't look like it has made any worthwhile changes.

@parkurtommo: Yea I was looking to grab Trinity, I just wanted to play the first one before I move onto rebellion. I like seeing the changes made in sequels lol. But seeing as trinity is only 6.79 even without being on daily/community/flash sale I won't be too mad if it doesnt go on sale.

Bought Prison Architect and Game Dev. Both games are actually very good.

If nothing else good goes on sale I might have to jump on Prison Architect the next time it comes up.
