The Steam Summer Sale (June 19)

Alright so two more days until the Steam summer sale, easily the biggest gaming sale of the year. What are you guys wanting to pick up? What are you hoping goes on sale?

I'm really hoping for a sale on DayZ and Dark Souls 2. Haven't picked up either yet.

Also, pro tip, never, ever buy a game until the last few hours of the sale or during a flash sale. A game on sale will almost always go down even more in price near the end.

Also, here's some pregame sales for you guys: Just Cause 2 (Honestly, the funnest open world game there is, is 3 bucks), Tiny and Big, and gunpoint

I just want AOM HD, some indie games, the Quake games, Unreal tournament games and Ikaruga.

@TheEroica: I don't think Monaco's worth it unless you have 3 friends to play the whole thing with you. It used to be ok since you could do online multiplayer for the campaign but noone's ever online anymore. It's not really fun playing a 4 man heist alone lol.

Hopefully some titles that my garbage laptop can run. Indies are a harder sell since a lot of them are on PlayStation systems with cross-buy and cross-save, giving me two or three methods of playing a game while bolstering my PSN Trophies which is much further along than my Steam account.

Yup. Even if you're a massive cow, you can't resist Just Cause 2 for 2 dollars.

I'm going to say the same thing I say before every Steam sale. I really don't have anything I want to buy. Then the subliminal messages start, and I end up buying games that I never play.

I need that Assassins Creed with the black lady that looks like ps2 game.

I'm wrestling with whether to save my money and buy a Wii U (I've already got tons of PC games in my Steam library that need playing... on the order of at least 40), or just give in and spend a cool Benji on another 40 games I'll never play. Lol.

Probably going to go with the Wii U as the GF has input on how I spend my money (as I hers, we are a couple) and she wants one as well.

It was like $12 two days ago.

steam sales have been meh for the last 3 years ever since the coal x-mas sale fiasco back in 2010 or 2011

But this is when the new triple A games go on sale. Last summer, it was the big games of the year before that went for 5 bucks (Far Cry 3, Bioshock Infinite, Arkham City, Borderlands 2, The Witcher 2, and Max Payne 3 were all 5 dollars at some point.

This year, I'm willing to bet the same thing will happen to Blood Dragon, XCOM, Tomb Raider, Company of Heroes, Injustice, Metro Last Light, the South Park game, Thief, Rome II, and I'm hoping for Dark Souls 2, and Watch Dogs.

Also hoping for a really cheap Titanfall on Origin, 30 bucks right now is still too much.

I've played just about everything already so probably nothing of worth for me.

i'll get a few things, if the price is right. i have been thinking about:

But seriously, I don't plan to get anything these sales. I already have too much of a backlog. Perhaps if some games are really, really cheap (than I just can't resist) or I see Age II HD: The Forgotten for a good price.

If Dark Souls 2 really reaches around 5-10 dollars then my summer will be complete.

Yeah I'd like to own those. It's hard for me to buy anything as I have over 300 games in my Steam library, but there is always something.

MGR: Revengeance under a tenner - would buy.

South Park: Stick of Truth under a tenner - would buy.

Sales on early access games like Divinity and Wasteland would too get a purchase.

There are probably more. We'll see.

Good thing I'm not that bothered about the sale since I have most of the games I want. I've also got a large backlog of games that I've never installed either.

The only thing I'd want is the DLC for Outlast but I no spare cash :( I suppose I could always sell the mass amount of cards I've gained over time.

There are a few games I want but I'll see whats on the daily.

As many games with controller support that I don't already have as possible.

Wasteland 2 I'd love to see on sale but I doubt it will. I have a ridiculous backlog and limited gaming time and I always say I'll buy nothing then come out the other side shell shocked having bought 20 games :P

I have so many games already but there are a few I'm looking out for. Not that I ever play them though as always seem to either play stalker coc or trials evolution.

Farcry 2 ( I have 1 and 3 so if this is cheap I may as well get it)

That's about it. I will no doubt pick up random games I will never play though.
