MS lies & deceives constantly. It's not a "No contest"!

MS doesn't lie? They told the world they would outsell the PS3, lie. They told the world that the Kinect was an integral part of the X1 & it wouldn't work without it, lie.

Name them for me, since while I agree I may have stretched on some, others I seriously don't back down on. Kinect for example does matter a great fucking ton. MS spent all this time and energy convincing people that their ideas were good and that Kinect was the future. Then, they pulled the plug in just a few short months. Basically, they fucked over EVERYONE who either bought into their BS or bought an Xbone for $100 than they would've because MS kept saying over and over again that they'd "never sell the Xbox One without Kinect".

Launch day seems like a gross over estimation, but delays have been happening constantly this gen. EA has done it, Remedy I think has done it. Ready at Dawn did it. I'm not going to prod into what's taking them so long. Not after the famousmortimer fiasco.

Look at all the underhanded crap MS pulls. DRM, used game fees, mandatory Kinect forced. Everything with their 360 was an extra cost add on. I called it the money sucking machine.

As to your specific points that are not lies, just changes of stance based on feedback:

• Kinect must be plugged in--- May very well have been true at one point in development, then people bitched
• Check ins---Removed because of removal of...
• Family sharing---this. It would have been in if people didnt bitch.
• Kinect is integral--- As I understand originally, there were features only useable with a kinect (party chat?). The OS team fixed that.

I just see these as examples of MS making changes to meet consumer feedback.

What the **** is the point bitching about things said almost a decade ago by individuals who either don't work there anymore or no longer make any of these decisions? Sony was dumb as **** at the beginning of last gen. Nobody can honestly say otherwise. Dwelling on that though as if any of it is still relevant is just pointless however. For the most part, they seemed to have learned from their past mistakes. You know what they say about history, right?

MS not only fucked up THIS gen, but they are continuing to do so. Whether its when they say stupid shit or just straight up lie doesn't matter. Point is it's all fresh and continuing to happen to this day and we're still unsure of when it's going to stop. Sure, they've reversed SOME horrible decisions after bad PR, but these are not distant memories.

I don't know why people are voting for M$ . Yes , they screwed a lot and changed their business practices but they didn't lie as much as Sony did, with straight face. "Teh cell processor can render entire landscapes in real time without GPU" . They feel so insecure about their hardware . "but but but it makes the game more cinematic" .

Marketing or no marketing. It's not only lies, but straight up false advertisement. Response to feedback or a hurting wallet, the simple truth of the matter is they said things would happen or be one way and they went back on their word. For the most part, this was good. However, things are not black and white.

They promised users a vision. They said they would never abandon this vision. They focuses so much goddamn time talking about that damn vision. Yes, no forced Kinect is ultimately a GOOD thing for the consumer, but it is still a burn to everyone who bought the system who had no intention of ever using it and were told that there was no point of waiting for a version sold without it because it was never going to happen.

ONLY HALF YEAR LATER, this changed. And what of all those devs who may have been designing a game assuming every xbox owner would have the device? Whoops. It's great Kinect isn't forced anymore, but that basically guarentees you'll never see it used in any meaningful way (assuming its capable of such) on any AAA game. Sure, MS will be MS and probably shoe horn voice controls that could easily work with any headset here and there, but why bother making anything essential now that a good chunk if not the majority won't own the device.

And the family sharing thing is such BS. "Oh we HAD to remove it because SOME people didn't like our ideas". horseshit. The fact they can say that to make it look like the customer and consumer is at fault for reacting reasonably and not like drones to anti-consumer policies is crazy. And the sad thing is, it worked to a degree. They remove that feature and now you have people attacking each other in response and not the ones pulling the strings.

I find it odd that MS seem to get such a pass on some of their recent stuff whilst stuff from nearly a decade ago is valid for Sony.

-People point to DC when MS did the same with Halo 5.

-Multiple occasions where MS have tried to pass multiplats off as exclusives (the recent photo and Major Nelson tweeting MGS5 as exclusive).

-Console can't function without Kinect, is integral to the console which switches to unpluggable and removed from the Xbox bundles.

-Allegedly manipulating forum comments/upvotes.

-Lies on the Xbox One specs, adding of bandwidths etc

-The free servers that are missing from multiple first party titles.

-Major Nelson "flipping switches".

-Albert Penello on Neogaf (No way we're giving up 30% lol).

-Caught paying youtube channels for advertising without making it clear.

-Claiming the X1 was sold out WW when it wasn't.

That's all from this gen alone never mind the stuff that was just questionable like the emphasis on the 4k ready HDMI cable for gaming, the cloud and it's 4 Xbox's worth of power.

Because they invested money in MS' product and buyer's remorse is a bitch.

In the third one note the word possibility. How is it a lie when they said it was only a possibility.

Last one also not a lie, he said he believed a large chunk of their users would enjoy home, he didn't say they would he stated an opinion. Also there were reportedly 31m registered Home users which i would say qualifies as a "huge chunk" anyway.

I voted for Sony. They have lied so many times over the years. Just watch the complete E3 show 2005, almost the whole show is complete BS.

Didn't they also promise 1080P and 60 fps in all PS3 games? Yeah, look how that turned out. They didn't even achieve that 9 years later on a new console.

Sony by far, some of their lies haven't just been misleading they have been beyond belief. Yet some people still seem to believe every word.

MS tend to over exaggerate and omit information rather than outright lie.

Can't think of any Nintendo lies tbh, but I'm sure they aren't squeaky clean.
