TCHBO again...TLOU 2

Surprise...well, not actually. We all predicted that. TLOU 2 has been downgraded from E3 2018 'gameplay' demo.

Main points:

1. Yes the demo was extremely scripted as well as the animations. Final game doesn't live up to that.

2. SSR are missing in places because the demo was scripted

3. Dynamic lights and shadow casting lights are reduced along with many self shadows

So much for cows going on and on about claiming ownage saying ND doesn't downgrade from the gameplays. That makes it 5 times in a row that ND has downgraded the product from its reveal.

Now let the DC begins.

Yeah, the 2018 demo seemed heavily scripted, opposite to what we were told on SW at the time. That being said, as much as people are divided on the story, the gameplay is still top-notch, even for ND... My copy is still closed on my kitchen counter, as I need to finish P4G on the PC first.

Coming from someone who has a beefy PC, still looks better than any game out there right now. Cyberpunk also got downgraded, no biggie.

After playing the game for myself and finishing it up, it still looks awesome, I'd say Last of Us 2 surpasses Witcher 3PS4 version in that regard. Naughty Dogs really push the limits on that game. I can tell you now I didn't see any downgrades at all but keep in mind this game was build from the ground up on PS4 hardware.

I'm more curious if Ghost of Tsushima can match Last of Us 2.

TBH, thought the Witcher 3 on PS4 looked really dated. I can name at least 10 games that were technically better like Detroid, Horizon and God of War, to name a few.

That 95 meta plus millions in sales is just eating some people alive.

I really don’t get bothered by ‘downgrades’ myself but this is definitely hilarious to see given how certain cows were about this game as it was in development and even crapping all over that one dev who even dared to question that one trailer. 😅

Downgrade from the 2018 was instantly noticeable, like in the first minute of playing. If the ps5 upgrade gets us the 2018 level of visuals, that would be tight.

Also, what's up with TLOU2 being like the most polular game in the last... i dunno how many years? Everywhere i look i see people praise it, bitch about it, but always talking about the game. This is what MS needs, a game that people talk about.

Outside of the motion captured cutscene wasn't that impressed.

Played Alyx this year, where, aside from the 3D depth everything is practically flawlessly interactive real-time with your hand, reacting in a flawless manner in tandem with other objects. To me that pushing the boundary far more at showing the mediums potential.

Not watching the video, because I don't even want TLOU2, but that initial gameplay video was so obviously scripted and fake. The gameplay, I mean, because who gives a crap about the graphics? Impressive that people believed it was real.

I'm not going to watch that yet (avoiding spoilers), but this game is beautiful, the attention to detail is pretty insane at times.

Every game in the history of the video game industry past/present/future was/is/will be "downgraded." It is significantly less technologically taxing to create a crazy single sequence gameplay demo than it is to make all of those moving parts work in a 30-50 hour experience.

If you expect games to look as good as the E3 demos, get used to waiting 10 years for them to release, so the developers can fine-tune literally millions of individual components to the point where they can get the game looking like that (which, of course, defeats the purpose, as they'll be outdated by the time they would actually come out).

PC getting stomped by a PS4 game. Sad really.

No doubt it looks good, but several games on PC Ultra look better than TLOU2, or anything on PS4. You would know and likely agree if you tried them. Even DF didn't give it the "next gen" praise they gave Control PC.

PC was graphics king for a majority of this gen, with the most yearly DF winners. This is just a trend you're going to have to deal with. You should probably invest in one if you care this much about graphics.

Precisely! He was attacked by the devs at ND which in turn let the cow mob attack him non-stop by saying he's jealous. Also, the same ND dev then went on to attack SoTR for depicting violent death scenes of the main character like getting impaled totally overlooking TLOU 2 it self.

And that has been addressed multiple times, nobody, no PC gamer defended the Witcher 3 downgrade, in fact they were the ones to come out and called CDPR over this bullsh*t unlike cows who defends that shameless practice.

Also, good to know that the only defense cow has is pointing to CDPR whenever something like this comes up. That confirms they are jealous over CDPR games outshining their precious exclusives and at the heart considers CDPR to be a PC first dev.

I own Witcher 3 both on PC & PS4 and you are right. It didn't age well, and I do agree with Horizon, Detroit, & even now God of War 4 looks awesome, I should have compared it to UC4 at the very least.

So, the game was downgraded (🤷🏽‍♂️) but instead of simply conceding to that, metacritic scores and spam thread are the defense....🤣

That video proves the difference is quite small. The Last of Us 2, is still the best looking console game to date.

Honestly DF seemed more impressed by this then Control. The only ares Control beats this is Ray traced reflections. TloU 2 wins in just about every other area.

I'm not sure if it was R-Gamer or Boxrekt but they used gifs of the 2018 footage to claim ownage over PC graphics and the scenes they use were directly compared to final game to show the downgrade in the digital foundry video. They've certainly been owned.

Evidence shows Cyberpunk 2077 won't get a downgrade like The Witcher 3. The early 2020 build looks better in nearly all ways in comparison to the 2018 build. We just got our hands on footage from multiple different journalist of the game running on an RTX 2080 ti and the gameplay footage we've seen didn't have ray tracing enabled. If the game was being downgraded than a beast like the RTX 2080 Ti wouldn't have difficulty playing it with ray traced shadows, ambient occlusion and indirect lighting (no ray traced reflections enabled) and DLSS 2.0 1080p. Although they state with the trend for all other RTX games they get optimized better after release.

China currently holds the most preorders for the game and that is a PC gaming stronghold, so CD Projekt have no financial incentive to downgrade the game for base console parity especially since they want to upgrade it for next gen consoles as well.

Those goons try this every gen and get rekt every gen.
